It would appear that the CAMC have found a popular site - close to lots of places of interest and near the town - so have decided to try to cram even more people in with these Pods. Maybe they should be looking after their existing members first before trying to attract more.

Sounds an ideal site for motorhomes. Perhaps some of these smaller pitches should be turned over to motorhome stop over pitches or instead of building pods, construct stop over pitches with 3m spacing.

    Coat is already on.

Depending on how many there are I think the cleaning of these would be too much for the wardens and that cleaners would have to be employed, as with caravans on holiday parks. Our daughter cleans her friends holiday flat for her, it is only quite small with two bedrooms. Not many families stay, mostly just couples, so you would think it would be fairly ok, and yes some people do leave it in an acceptable state. However, I have helped her occasionally and have been appalled at the state people leave it in.Some even leave all the washing up in the sink and the bathroom very bad. And I have to say professional couples are often the worst. You only have to see the state some people leave the CMC showers in to think what these Pods might be left like.

So very true, the state that some left the facilities at the upgraded sites at Black Knowl, Cirencester and Tewksbury  does make one wonder how the site staff manage to bring them back to the clubs normal high standards in the times stated, and also what the state of some people homes are like,

Ps Our local caravan dealer has said in the past about the condition  of some caravan toilets and showers that come in for service and PX is a real eye opener

My eldest daughter has a 6 berth, 2 bedroom static caravan on a site in Rhyl. She rents it out either through the site owners or privately through a static owners website. She used to take just a £50 deposit to cover her insurance excess and as a damage excess if needed but, because of the state a few users have left the place in, has increased the deposit to £100

"Stop over" pitches generally have a time limit as to how long you can use them typically 24 to 72hrs. I see nothing to stop a caravan owner using them for short stays providing the car was parked elsewhere That would also apply to motorhome users with toads.

One big flaw in the "information" that is given in the bit where it says "just say no" that is not what you would expect  in the leisure industry that is expected to keep "everyone happy"wink

You and I both know that CC spacing is 6m and why.

You are wrong JVB. It's doubly important at times to say no and prioritise in the Leisure Industry. Saying no means you can put safety before profit, check that everything works on a roller coaster, in a swimming pool, laughinggive the staff extra training if required, etc....

The old adage of the customer is always right is only applied if the customer has a clear understanding of what is required! Better to tell a customer to "go forth" rather than cut corners and put lots of folks at risk!

More sensible to leave the spacing as it is and market them as what they really are non awning. They would then suit those with caravans who do not want to put up an awning, or MH's with pull out awnings and no tow car.

So that is why there are negative reviews of sites?,but i have yet to note any site staff "cutting corners" in pursuit of time managementundecided

It need not be, it is what the local authorities will allow.

Negative reviews of sites usually happen for a small number of reasons. Someone didn't get their own way, someone didn't do their site research properly, some folks expect staff to to be all things to all men, some folks are very intolerant of anything or anyone who isn't like them!

Its a management skill sorting out the genuine bad experiences from the elevated and unreal expectations of a few. And another skill trying to remain polite in the face of everything thrown at you! laughing

Are you saying that 6m is what the LA's allow on sites or that they allow 3m?

No matter really as the CC has determined 6m to be a minimum safe spacing.

I am sure you can find sites with sub standard spacings just for you and those that want such things Peedee. Or perhaps you can't over here?  There are always some P&R sites I believe and pub car parks etc.

On Binham Grange site, either the LA turned a blind eye or the previos owners had "friends" intt the LA as some pitches were downright dangerous as far as spacing was concerned the site staff had had to "convert" some to parking spaces for the next pitch to give space

But if you took notice of some on here, who seem to have no concept of a wardens  most days unpredictable daily work load wink i can remember being shown a job description for a warden as happens ,rather than what "experts"think it is ,and it went to 3 A4 sheets of itemised jobs that are normal on most sites surprised
