We are staying on the Carnon Downes site which is affiliated to the C&MC in Cornwall .Been here 1wk and 1wk to go ,leaving next Saturday.Nice site ,pitches are huge either hard standing or grass.Facilities are good ,clean toilets and showers ,washing up area and laundry,Elsan and Motorhome point, very helpful staff nice walks from the site ,7acre field for dogs, and very central for exploring Cornwall.Fish & Chip van ,pizza van and pasty van all visit the site at different times during the week. All in all a nice site and in our opinion one worthy of a visit.

Glad you liked it. There are 46 other reviews saying much the same thing.

We have looked at this site a few times but thought it too near a major road.  Did you find the road noise too intrusive BrianJoNB?

I’ve stayed there and the site is fine, as described. However, sitting just off a roundabout on one of Cornwall’s major routes is not where I’d choose to be for a relaxing break. It depends what you’re looking for and this site is fine for a couple of days and ideal if you need to be near Truro but it isn’t a rural retreat or a site to use for beaching in my view.

Looks as if its near to good transport links which is always a plus. Might think about that for future use. Thanks for posting.

It is one of the few sites open all year that far west and one I use in the off season.

Cosawes Touring Park is an alternative possibility between Truro and Falmouth - also open all year with similar style and prices to Carnon Downs but a bit further from the main road .

We stayed at Carnon Downs some 30 + years ago, way before it was as big as it is now, or an AS Site. Recall it being nice, but very much a one night stop on a tour for us, not a great location for other than going somewhere else. We have never been back, Cornwall has a wealth of similar sites in far nicer places. But on the plus side, it does open in Winter.
