Tracker Remote Control Fob
One of the Remote Control Fobs for the Tracker Alarm on my Bailey Unicorn Madrid has stopped working. Has anyone had this happen to them and have they been able to replace the battery in it. I've been quoted £57:99 for a replacement from Bailey Parts!! Any advice would be gratefully received.

The chances are it's not a Bailey part, Nellie, but from a third party. See if you can find a maker's name on the fob or on the alarm box or in your instructions and try an internet search for it.
Sometimes it’s only a case of the fob and the alarm box not talking to each other and if you go through a putton pushing reprogramming exercise that might be all it needs but you need the information on how to do it.
It might just be a duff battery in the fob.

TW, I was told at a caravan sales counter that in the first instance I should contact Bailey, which I duly did.

There’s not much I can say, Nellie, other than in similar circumstances our dealer 'fobbed' us off and we only solved the problem by going straight to the alarm company who were very helpful. Could the name have been Auto Watch?

There's no name or other details whatsoever on the fob. All I have is the part number from Prima, Bailey Parts supplier.. There's nothing in the hand book, so I guess that I'll have to have a look around when I get home to see if I can identify the manufacturer of the alarm

It's a Bailey Unicorn Madrid, 2011 model, if that helps. I'm not even sure where the alarm unit is, and it's a bit inconvenient searching at the moment as we are still away.

usually under the front seat opposite side to water heater. one of my fobs didn't work when I bought caravan( second hand ) lunar with Sargent alarm. had to remove cove from alarm box and press button on fob at same time as button and alarm box and when light flashed on circuit board it was matched and worked ever since. read the alarm manual and will explain what to do. hope this helps.

I can't find one for our Bailey, a 2014 Cadiz. There is just a page in the main book telling you how to set it and no reference to another more detailed booklet.
Is the little red light very dim or not working when you press the button. If so it is probably the battery. Unfortunately from a search of the web it is a hope / pray replacement, due to the risk of breakage.
Hope the info in the photos helps. Perhaps ours will last until we trade it in for a MH.🤞

Steve, the light was not showing when the button was depressed. I've been able to open the Fob using a narrow bladed stiff knife and it contains a A23 12 volt battery, also known as an LVR08 battery. I've sent for a twin pack from an Amazon dealer for £2:00 so if it works that'll be a saving of nearly £56!! And I'l have a spare should the other fob stop for the same reason.

May be they expect the van to have been sold on before the battery runs down and the new owners will just cough up for a new hob thinking the old one is kn**kered. The amount of use we put our van through would equate to around 20 yrs "normal" caravanning, not the 7 yrs we've had it.

Be careful if the battery has been left out of the fob for a while as might loose the memory and need re-matching with the alarm control again. you never said what make the tracker/alarm is and might make a difference with some of the answers you get back. If its a Phantom you can ring them and get instruction leaflet on how to do this. I don't know what they fit in Baileys.

Thanks, I'm not sure of the make and the fob has not been working for a couple of weeks now so perhaps the memory is already lost. I took the battery out yesterday and anticipate the new battery will be with me early next week. fingers crossed that it will work ok. I only got home today and will look through the van to find the alarm and find it's manufacturer.

Just received the replacement battery for the fob today and the fob now operates the alarm. Thankfully I did not have to bother about re-matching the fob to the alarm.
So for an outlay of just over £1 all's working again, compared to the £59 Bailey wanted for a replacement. Why couldn't they just have suggested replacing the battery I wonder?
