No Road lights after hook up
Swift Challenger Sport 442 2012
On our way back from the Peak district last Saturday we lost all road lights . We pulled over luckily to an empty layby . Called Green Flag who sent out a local company who are mainly recovery people . Technician was unable to find a fault ( didn't even have a multi- meter ) . Ended up having the caravan on loader back to Shrewsbury . Why did GF not send their own people ? Has anyone been in this situation before.
Anyway , We took the car to the guys who installed our Westfalia towbar . They connected their test board , everything working ok . They did pull some fuses in and out firstly which re-sets the Westfalia control box .
Went back to hook up the caravan at storage depot . No lights.
Got the guys at Salop Leisure ( Swift Dealers and service ) to connect their tow truck , everything ok .
So, where is the problem ? Car or Caravan ? Can't take the van anywhere until sorted .
Has anyone got any ideas /suggestions about what we should do next .
Thanks

If you have no road lights in the car it is likely that the lights fuse in the car has blown. Your handbook will tell you where it is - in my Tiguan it is in the fuse box in the car. If car lights are ok the fault lies in the car in the wiring to the socket, or the socket itself. Try to connect your car to a caravan whose lights are ok. From then on any decent auto electrician should be able to sort it out. Green Flag don't come out of this too well!
