Tension spring

I have tried to retention the spring on my door fly screen but the rod with the spring attached has a little star shaped plastic washer the is supposed to grab the inner sleeve so it doesn't spin and it's spinning.Any ideas on fixing or can I get one?

    Have you tried googling 'how to repair caravan door fly screen'?  Some of the posts may solve your problem.
