Peak prices during school holidays

we like THS sites, too...
the THS 'diary' at CCC runs from (approx) April to October (although there are a few winter events) and takes in the whole country....
their advantages are many....cost (as above), no booking, stay as long as you wish, often pay on leaving, but the big draw for many is that by making use of school grounds, local sports grounds and farm fields, the location is often far closer to towns than 'regular' sites...so great for those who don't wish to take a car or MH out every day...
disadvantages (for some).....usually no showers, toilets, EHU.....so won't suit those used to (say) Club sites....but they are really well supported and I reckon they are the best viable alternative that the uk has to the 'aires' system....drop in, cost minimal, visit town, sleep, move on....
or OTOH, stay a while......and really chill....some make use of them throughout the whole summer, moving from one to another as part of a tour.....

The club centres offers lots of good holiday rallies too, many on coastal sites, where families can be at the seaside for a reasonable rate. Often they use part of a bigger site where there are facilities, worth a try, just remember to book in advance or a phone call might get you a cancellation. You don't have to be a centre member, just a club member. I wish the rally search could be improved, it would be a great help for those trying to find rallies and alternative reasonably priced holidays.

I agree Brue, it needs better info to hand....online app?...but I just can't be bothered to try with CC...
CCC has a dedicated THS app....put in location (roughly) from/to dates and see the results displayed in a list or on a map....easy....
and, of course, no booking and saying how long you're staying.
perhaps if the club had something similar I'd give it more than a cursory glance...
what is the usual price range for staying on a club site as part of a rally...a couple of quid discount?...
