Site Rules
Can somebody please point me in the right direction. (No rude comments please)! I used a site (other club) recently. There was confusion over my allocated pitch. There was no official to sort it out so I decided to park temporarily until somebody turned up. I intended to push on to a clear area ahead but knocked that idea straight out of my head as there was a game of cricket in progress in the intended area. My question is - Are ball games permitted by both clubs.

3. Behaviour on site
a. Please make sure you, and anyone staying with you, respect the comfort and convenience of other site users. When you're on site please don't behave in a way that discredits The Club. Verbal or physical abuse won't be tolerated. This will result in you being asked to leave the site and your membership may be suspended.b. If you have children with you on the site, you are responsible for their supervision.
c. No one wants their outfit damaged, so ball games are not allowed near the pitches. Please ask the site staff if there is anywhere suitable to play ball games.

Thanks for your reply E. A bit of a tricky one. The game was in fairness not next to units but a ball hit with a bat can travel a fair way (especially if hit by a Yorkshireman) - not biased at all!, but when hit on one occasion, it certainly reached a caravan. Not sure that it hit it or not but the potential is there. I am not a killjoy but as all on here, we do not want to go through the hassle of getting involved in legal stuff or shelling out for repairs. On that note, it would be better if all sites could provide a safe area for ball games. I know that is not always going to be possible and there will be instances of flaunting the rules as happens in life in general.

You mentioned the site was the other club, I have been on their sites where "games" have been allowed on empty areas until the pitches are needed. Usually if there is no official around there is a note on the office telling you what to do, if it's the C&CC it would mean waiting till after 1pm, ringing a doorbell or walking the site to find a manager who could help you. I don't think they normally expect people to park up until they have met you.
In this case the ball games bit would be irrelevant until you had met up with the manager and discussed what pitches were available to you even though you had booked a certain type of pitch.

Brue. It was the C&CC. The 'Office' consisted of a farmer collecting dues in his vehicle and was only on site after his days work. We had been allocated a pitch but on arrival our designated pitch was occupied by a MH. There was nobody in the motor home so I made a decision to move on a vacant pitch and hope for the best. The man duly arrived late afternoon to greet us and take our money and told us that where I had pitched was not pre booked and we could stay put.. So the awning was put up and we lived happily ever after!

I’ve never met that on a C&CC site in well over 40 years of membership, John, not even on a franchised site.
Could it have been a CS or a commercial site listed by the C&CC? Can you name it please so we can solve the mystery?

Nor me, but thanks for the details JohnD, it does sound like a CS and I'd be interested to hear if it was one? Incidentally, I've put this on before, but we were on the NI C&CC site and we were circled round a cub camp, we didn't mind at all but the C&CC has a different style of site usage. So the two clubs are different in many ways.

Sorry about the delay in replying, I was sent out by SWMBO to get a lottery ticket for tonight - complete waste of time and money and I got wet! The site was Higher Kestle Farm near Mevagissey. Somewhere that TW may know.

She's right, John, it is a CS.
Like this club's CLs, it’ll be run as the owner chooses and not governed by the C&CC's ways or site rules.
I know the area but have not stayed at the site - too close to home.😀
