One for Head Office to answer perhaps

Are there going to be any restrictions for arrivals/departures on the 9th September, given the route for the Marathon and Half Marathon passes between Ober Lodge and Ober Corner?

    Still... worth highlighting for anyone arriving or departing on this date.

    You’ll be hoping for a few cancellations then wink it’s looking pretty full and getting a week might be tough.

    Ah, there is a note on the site web page...

     

    Sunday 9th September - New Forest Marathon

     

    Please note that the Forest road down to the site will be closed from 10.00 am until 1.30 pm.  All departures will need to leave by 10.00 am before the road closes.  Arrivals will not be able to access the site until 1.30 pm.  Please be aware that there may be runners on the road during the departure and arrival times. This event has been running for over 30 years and the road closures are beyond the control of the Club.

    I foresee traffic chaos, the departures is one thing but those who are expecting to arrive for midday and don’t see the note on the webpage or are not contacted directly by the club, will be in for a frustrating afternoon.

    There was not a problem when access to the New Forest Show  was also down that lanesurprised

    Was the road completely closed for that?
