I thought that would come up JVB
let us assume site has to be manned 8am until 18.00 70 hours a week therefore. If there are 6 members of staff what is the problem? If on;y 4 staff employ one more.
Most busy sites that I do on seem to have 5 or 6 staff. Sites with just one couple put up a notice saying site yourself and call back

This thread started talking about a two couple Site that the majority are ,when having to cater for the WTD several days a week there would only be one couple on duty, all scenarios on sites with more than two couples ,will be covered by at least two couples on duty most of the day

Staff are entitled to an uninterrupted 20 min break if they work for more than 6 hours.
The service industry is much harder now than it was 20 years ago but I suspect most CAMC staff manage to find 20 mins during the day.
As soon as you create an earliest arrival time, you create a queue, that’s just plain common sense.
I’ve employed people for over 30 years, and every time a change has occurred, staff have complained about the change and told me it won’t work etc etc. Funnily enough it always does.

Mmmm, my job was of the 24/7 type,on call all the time if required. Ships and oil rigs are no respecters of regular working hours.
Lunch, if there was any, was a moveable feast, and dinner frequently very late on.
Our son, these days, works very variable hours, anything from 6am till 2am is not unknown. He has to be available to talk with colleagues in Australia, California, and Europe, so takes his breaks when he can, to fit in with his work. No such thing as scheduled breaks for him.
He is however extremely well paid!

Oooo, a p’ing contest excellent. Do we have anyone who-themselves or family members work 25hrs a day & 8days a week? Get paid more than Mr Trump, who’ve not eaten for a week due to their commitment to duty. We’d love to hear from you👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊

Unfortunately, in the private sector it is often the case that if there is something that needs done, then you have to do it. If I had refused to talk to a client because it was my lunch break, I would not have got very far in my industry! The customer always comes first.
It is similar for my children, who both work in IT, the work has to be done, and you stay at your desk until that is the case. If this means eating while you work, so be it.
This is how it is these days. Time off can be taken when possible, but the work needs to be completed on schedule.
Salary is excellent, but dedication to the job is expected.

Ashridge Farm ,Commons Wood, and Denham are three one couple sites that have barriers and Seacroft plus numerous other two couple sites several days each week
And as for employing an extra person it has been tried on some sites but causes problems when making a fair duty rota

It was the way you put it, but never mind.
When a couple are there, even if one is in the office and one having lunch, the one in the office is not exactly without support, should it be required. They will be within shouting distance. Surely that is sufficient?
Really not that different from one of a couple going to the toilet leaving the other one working.
Having retired 11 years back, legal, uninterrupted breaks are unknown to me!

is the anything wrong with a bit of discussion.....in the discussions section?....it's a bit more lively than the past few weeks....
you don't have to post and 'fan the flames' ...if you think the thread has no merit....don't post Simples.....oh how I hate that word....
you seem to think this is all a wind up when I'm sure the rest of us feel it's a valid subject to debate...otherwise, why would we be posting?.
why not open a really interesting thread of your own and then we can all pass judgement on that rather than the other way round which is the usual MO....

Wayne and Judie, Why do you ask the question, and what would you want as a reply.
Many have questioned the arrival time, and want it to be earlier rather than wait outside, and many have asked for the departure time to be extended so they can stay longer, the club cannot cater for the two requests.

Have you not been around much lately? I thought it had been fun on here and quite relaxing.
My post was a one liner which can equally be taken at face value. It didn’t warrant your immensely ‘informative’ post but I guess that made you happy. 😃

yes, when space permits, and not at busy times.
There has to be a set times other wise it might read "Arrival times" depending on when you have booked, could be as early as 9 if the site is quiet or if busy 1pm. "Departure time" depends when you have booked or how early the arrivals want to come in.

a one liner, perhaps, but why pass judgement at all....just Tinwheeler doing what he does....
you're right, it's been fun and relaxing not interacting with you, too, these last few weeks, just watching you passing comment on all and sundry, explaining how all weekend posts are seagulls, and how certain posters must only be posting conspiracy theory stuff designed to upset the forum...enlightening stuff...
so, carry on 'Tinwheeling', like everything else CC, this won't change either.....
have a lovely day.

Err, you wouldn’t be telling me how to post would you, BoBo?
You do make me laugh at times🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have a good one yourself and don’t get stressed. 😀

you don't need telling, you have your own inimitible (lack of) style....
the one thing you don't make me do is smile, quite the opposite, from what I've witnessed from the sidelines these past few week.....
