This was our first trip in our MH, so wanted to try somewhere that wasn't too busy but was far away from home to not get recognised.

Apart from the shocking trip up, due to the M6 closure, we saw loads of the country on our by-pass.

Arrived at the site around 7:30, and eventually found pitch 112.

We thought we had everything we needed, but there are something's we need to take in future.

The site is set in a great woodland area, about 10 minutes walk to the lake, and about 40 minutes walk into Coniston. Toilets are VERY clean, although the shower pressure could be a little better.

Met some great people and would definitely stay again.

Glad you enjoyed the experience. It was an unfortunate incident that caused the M6 problem. The M6 is usually quite peaceful north of Preston.

We've enjoyed several visits to Coniston over the years.

If you are from Runcorn, then Snowdonia, Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales are well within your reach. And don't forget Shropshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and the Welsh border - ideal for at least a day out.

    Thanx Aspenshaw.

We did look at Snowdonia, but since we've only had the motorhome a few weeks, we've kind of missed the bus for getting on some sites. A lot have already been booked up over the school holiday period.

We need to try and get things planned for further ahead.

Do you know when the French sites become available, as I'm planning on hitting a few TdF climbs next year, before I hit 50?
