Serviced pitches on Club Sites

Really? If folk have a health reason for needing a serviced pitch rather than one which wardens would make available near the facilities block then it is equally likely that they might just be short term visitors surely? I've no axe to grind on this since I'm not going to be booking a serviced pitch on a club site anyway but it seems some folk are going out of their way to find something to criticise other members for.

I take it you are a devotee of all things Disney Mickey Boy. That post was straight out of one of Walt’s movies😂😂😂

I’d help too, Micky, but it seems we're expected to know who might need the pitch we've chosen.

We saw a few MHs filling tanks with hoses from drinking water taps at Rowntree Park. It inconvenienced no one.
Last time I tried that at RP I had my knuckles rapped for causing a trip hazard.
It is hard to understand that having spent a lot of money on a vehicle having on board tanks and with increasingly good MH service points being available, why is a service pitch is needed.! If ever I need one it will be time to park the wheels for good.

Fortunately, PD, it’s not necessary for any of us to understand why people do what they do.

You could add in season pitches to this, I am not a lover of them. But, that is what the Club does nowadays, so we either put up with it or go to another club. It is our choice!

No one did it across roads or walk ways, we were up in the little cul de sac near the park gate. It was all very friendly.
There's lots of things folks do that puzzle me sometimes, but if it works for them, and doesn't inconvenience others, then I seldom worry. It's their choice.

Nowadays? Where is the evidence of that? The club in my experience have always had a very few seasonal pitches, on sites which have the capacity due to the fact that they are not full during the season. Where tourers don't fill, offer as seasonals, it makes sense and allows those of us who are nearing the end of our towing days a few more years enjoyment as a caravaner.

That is an option of course but why not enjoy the luxury of having the services right by your van with not need to move the van?
Is there a more subliminal point to your query?

Edit - Yes I see there was!!!

I book mostly weekends as we both still work full time Monday to Friday, we have found it increasingly difficult to get on sites especially at short notice and try to book as far in advance as possible. My opinion is that the club is not increasing pitches at the same rate as membership is increasing so I fear this will get worse not better until the club increases pitches

Love it!😂 Fantasia some reckon? Truth is mind that I would certainly help if a fellow member was in need! I'm a great believer in 'what goes around, comes around'! In my hour of need and all that........! May be just wishful thinking for a few but I'm sure many of us really do think this is the best and most honourable way forward.

A case of demand outstripping supply at certain times.👍🏻

A bit off thread but Where we are at the moment ,the assistant wardens are new to the club this year, after years of membership and useing club sites, and in their words "we did not realise just how much of an eye opener it would be dealing with sites users ,from being sites users ourselves, it is a different world this side of the membership, and it is always the club's fault no matter what misdameaner has been committed by the member"
Ps recognised them from our regular bolt hole as they also used it
