Omnia in place of Remoska
We are thinking of buying an Omnia to use in the motorhome in place of our Remoska which we love. We don't want to be tied to electricity as we are with the Remoska.
Looking a the photos, on the Omnia web site, it is apparent that it works well for bread, cakes and so on. However, neither my wife nor I eat bread nor any other refined carbohydrates so I am wondering if there are folk out there who have had success with using an Omnia for such things as fish, steak, bacon and so on.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry, can't help you with steak or bacon - we don't cook them when we are on holiday, but fillets of turbot or brill or sole take just a few minutes minutes in an old frying pan with a scrap of butter and oil, and stir fried squid with ginger and garlic gets the same treatment. Mussels go in a pretty big saucepan with a splash of white wine till they open - and I usually lob in some cream at the end. So that Omnia wouldn't get any use from us. And as for cooking bread and cakes in a Motorhome? Do people really do that ?

Surely, if your MH has a small oven already, then you are, to a large extent duplicating your baking capability. I do bake bread etc, particularly when stopping at festivals where the alternative is bland. And while at home I do use a Remoska for the things that a Remodka does best, but with the limited space in a caravan, I’m content to compromise and use an electric drill with a beater as a whisk, and boil peas rather than microwave them if off EHU. I guess that only you know if you’d get enough use from an Omnia to justify its extra space and weight.

All interesting, thanks. We never bake as we don't eat carbohydrates. My wife really dislikes the smell of frying steak, bacon or roasting in the motorhome so we cook outdoors as much as possible. We simply cannot think of anything we would ever cook in either a full size cooker no a microwave.
Meals for us are such things as bacon, steak, fried salmon, burgers - when in France as they are 100% beef -, ham, eggs and cheese. All of that can be done outside without heating an oven. The absence of the oven provides really useful storage in my opinion.
