Departure
I am sad to say I resigned my position of Moderator on CT to Rowena yesterday. Due to selling our Caravan 2 months ago and not replacing with another we will not be renewing our Membership with the Club in October. Due to my OH not being so agile these days he was having difficulty in coping with setting up, breaking down and all the jobs neede to be done with a caravan.
We have had a good innings with the 8 Caravans we have owned over the last 48 years of Membership with the Caravan Club. The last 14 years we have made 14 tours of Europe visiting 14 different Countries. Austria being our favourite followed by Germany, Italy. And Netherlands.
I shall miss my time on here but will keep my Website going as we will still be travelling in Europe just by car so can keep it updated on General Info especially Austria and Germany where we have toured extensively over the last 40 years.
This year celebrateing our Diamond Wedding we are doing a 10 day Danube Cruise at the end of August which will be very different.
I have met many members of the Club and wish them all and everyone on this Forum continued happy and safe Caravanning/Motorhoming.
Cheers

Sorry to read of your decision Dianne but it comes to us all eventually. Many on here have benefited from you experiences so I do hope you will continue to post even as a non member.
Enjoy your river cruise and whatever you subsequently decide upon.
Thanks

Dianne, I'm sure your travel experiences have been very helpful to a lot of people venturing to different places and personally I've often enjoyed dipping into your website. It offers all sorts of information and ideas.
Thanks for all your input on here. Have a lovely time on the Danube cruise and congratulations on your Diamond Anniversary.
My very best wishes to both of you.

I send you my best wishes for the future Dianne and hope you can still enjoy travelling, albeit without the towing.

Sorry to see that you're having to pack in caravanning, Dianne - it's obviously been a big part of your life so far. But good to see that you are already looking at alternative ways of enjoying travel experiences. Very best wishes for you diamond anniversary - we're mere novices in comparison - 44 years tomorrow!

Like 'Fisherman' in an earlier post you have come to the end of the road with your hobby. I can see you have done very well to get to this age with towing, especially abroad.
Enjoy your new holiday ventures, albeit at a more relaxed rate.
Pleased to hear you are keeping your website I and I'm sure many others have made good use of it in the past.
Good health

Dianne, sorry to read this.
It was with your help and guidance, along with others on this forum, that inspired us to travel abroad and incredibly, on our very first night in Germany (on our way to Austria) we bumped into eachother at Prumtal by pure coincidence!!
Best wishes for your Diamond and future travels, be they on land or sea!

Dianne, your expertise on all aspects of caravanning in Europe has inspired many to try it by giving them confidence that it really is quite simple. Your advice on this forum has invariably been sound and sensible, thank you. The more experienced of us have often used 'Joys of European Caravanning' as a source of reference when planning our trips and it will remain in my 'Favourites'.
Good luck for the future, your planned Danube cruise sounds superb - will we see a new blog 'Joys of European River Cruising' .
