Is full really full
Been on a popular club site for the past week with many nights showing as full plus the club's "late avalibility" also showing certain nights full. So what is the point as this site has every night had spare capacity. Thought the aim was to be able to relie on the electronic data. Please don't tell us that we still need to ring the site in this electronic day and age for accurate information who one wonders is wrong, the site or the club, either way it's hardly helpful

An interesting post W&J. I hope noticing the empty pitches did in no way detract and/or spoil your time away.

Indeed not but had we been looking to book we might have been excluded without reason which reflects on the less than efficient club system for which we all pay

excellent I was worried. Please keep up the good work for us all

And of course as any normal members who were "worried " about this seeming problem with the booking system, if you had a conversation with the site staff on as usual not mentioned site, which may have stopped you having to post on here, yet again ,with what seems as usual a theoretical problem ,as the majority who post on here understand why some pitches may not be used at times

When you open Club Together the next step takes you to Discussions.
Anyone can open a post for debate to the members. It does not warrant replies that have been received in this post. If you have nothing constructive to say to the OP then don't ridicule. He is entitled to ask peoples thoughts. So many posts lately have been waylayed by this type of reply as a result thev've been closed.
It is irrelevant what the name of the site is and I suspect the majority don't know the reason for what has been asked so I for one think the post is valid for discussion.

Going back a number of YEARS I asked the exact same question and was ridiculed, come on c&mh club let's have some honesty. Me thinks it's false representation to keep site prices inflated

Good Evening
Maybe I can shed some light.
On a club site, if you have a booking, your pitch is available from 12pm until 12pm. You can access that pitch up to 8pm on day of arrival. After 8pm the site staff are off duty. Any arrivals will then, if available stay in the late night arrival area. As a rule of thumb, if you stroll around site late evening and see spaces after you've seen the web page shows full, that will usually mean two things. One, someone has left early after booking an extra night, or two, people haven't showed up. Both happen quite a bit, option one being perfectly acceptable, option b being very frustrating.

The posters are, what ever you think ,are renowned for posting about controversial subjects, that As usual at weekend's,can normally be answered by site staff on the numerous sites that seem to be a problem for them ,
Just to clarify what has been discussed several times ,I think you will find that all sites could have some "vacant" pitches ,how does the OP think it is the "system"that is at fault when there could be a multitude of reasons ,why some pitches are empty/not in use

thanks for the post, have done option one myself quite a few times

We never rely upon what the bookings data tells us. So yes, even in this day and age, if we are keen to go somewhere that is showing as full, I always phone the site direct to get the bang up to date inside information from those on the ground. It's never failed us yet. So carry on all you technophobes, believe the website, meanwhile us simple types are having happy holidays!

My experience as well. Two years ago, we wanted to go to Borrowdale for a week, partly to celebrate my wife's birthday. All that was stopping us was the the site was showing full on the website for the Friday night (Borrowdale Show on the Saturday). Phone call to the site revealed that there were, in fact, vacant pitches on the Friday - so off we went. Very pleased I made that phone call.

Hi
That used to be the case but no longer. The paying customer has the ability to book that very last pitch.

JK, you’re up against the consultant to the high council of Wardenistas. Please don’t attempt to contradict. . . .Resistance is futile🤣🤣

Must be the weekend again. A forum member asks a perfectly reasonable question in an opening post and is immediately jumped on by the same small number of people.
Forums are for discussions. ------ Discuss
In answer to the OP. ------ IMO the quality of the CMC IT system is not good enough to supply information in real time.

As this thread contains too many posts containing personal attacks on the OP for them to be Deleted User, I'm closing it.
Thanks to all those who've contributed.
