CY, love it......your delivery reminds me of that Classic Fawlty Towers line.....a wonderful delivery by Ballard Berkley....
Mr. Hamilton: What I'm suggesting is that this place is the... the crummiest, shoddiest, worst-run hotel in the whole of Western Europe.
Major Gowen: No! No, I won't have that!..

TDA, two wrongs don't make a right

Do you know, yes I've witnessed folk not following the rules but to be honest they are a tiny minority and very infrequently observed! Without the rules I'm sure the 'situation' would be intolerable for many of us. Yes, let's educate those who don't appreciate the need for them but let's not capitulate and let these few dictate to us, the many, who do appreciate that those rules are there to promote and support harmony! I'm sure all of us have a collective wish to maintain those 'standards' we enjoy and we should support those that help to do this and that includes each and every one of us in my opinion!

We had a CL to ourselves one March. We had a night on every pitch, it felt like a new holiday every morning when we got up!

Guilty! that could have been us BUT we pay for the extra night so we can leave late so no rule broken, another rule we never break is we never leave home till gone 10:00 am so always arrive well after 12:00 after all we are on holiday so no rush is there?

You appear to have missed off one important and relevant fact there David, these commercial "hell holes" (as you so delicately put it) are in fact over there? And you do very very little recent touring over here?
This is the second time you have missed this part off? I can only assume the therapy for your overtherepostitis is working?

no I was merely pointing out your mis-direction and in-accuracy

as you have asked - the inaccurate, or rather the missing item that made your post inaccurate and misleading, ie that you were talking about sites that you had reported on were over there not over here.
Always happy to help David but moving on now

Some years ago we were on a private site in Devon, which we visited occasionally. One year he told us he was going 'Adults Only', and explained why.
After a few warnings to parents about their children's bad behaviour, he had a couple of caravans on site where the adults were drinking on pitch. During this time, their children were in the free-to-use recreation room, where they smashed the TV and the DVD player, tore the fabric of settees and easy chairs, and wrecked the pool table whilst trying to steal the cash out of it. When the parents were challenged, their reply was that, "they were on holiday and could not be expected to watch their kids all the time." Take away the rules, and it could easily happen on CMC sites. It's a sad thing to say but, over the years, we have noticed at first hand on caravan sites that the children of Continental Europe are generally better behaved than their British counterparts.
