Providing they maintain the required spacing on pitch then no problem. Your dog still needs to be tethered though.

Hi Mike and welcome to the club.  You can buy custom made windbreak type fences made specially for dogs which I have seen at big shows.  I thought about one for mine but they weren't high enough to keep my problem dog in.  So I use the tethering method.  Some people do go OTT with windbreaks and claim a lot of space but they are useful things.  Happy Camping!

From the subject heading I thought it was about a flatulence problem.

As long as they (windbreaks) are inside that designated part of your pitch and not in the fire breaks then no problem. As already mentioned, even then dogs must be tethered at all times and not allowed to foul or urinate on the pitch/grass.

We always carry one in the summer in case our neighbour has a dog, our dog can, on occasions, bark at  others  surprised we don't have to use it very often but just gives us peace of mind.

We carry one. It used to go up often, now less so. Was used to great effect at great Yarmouth to stop the very chilly breeze 😉. Without it we were lobster red on one side and frozen ice on the other 😂

Wind breaks are fine, we use one sometimes to enclose our wind out canopy, but some inconsiderate people use them as a land grab on grass pitches and on some hardstands to  "extend" the compounds of their fortress surprised

It might look as if one is on a lead, but it has just swallowed a corgi!

MD, perhaps I should explain that my earlier comments reflect the club’s rules. I couldn’t care less whether you use windbreaks but I do draw the line at rattlesnakes. 😝

I too am interested in windbreaks,  mostly to keep the wind out.

Sis wants to buy an awning for her caravan which to me will be a disaster, I'm the most  incompetent person ever when it comes to fitting those things together and she is not much better.

I have the Kampa one which is great because it uses aluminium poles to brace it one one side, so there are no guy ropes to trip over.  However, we only use it on CLs/CS's because I've yet to be on a club site where there would be enough room to use it.

I've got an Isabella wind break, I mainly use it on beaches but i have used in on CC&C and CC sites. No one has ever complained.

I think that rattlesnakes are dangerous enough without them breaking wind.

Trouble with putting up windbreaks on  hardstanding pitches is getting the legs into the ground. You really need steel poles or a metal spike to make a hole for the legs to fit into. Not cheap but I recommend you have a look at the >Jormax rnage<

The probably have something for restricting rattlesnakes as well? smile

We tend to use a half enclosure for our dog and she is always tethered, our windbreak folds into a small bag and needs guy ropes. The better ones are made by Jormax, expensive but do the job well.

Windbreaks by Windbreak Leisure or Jormax, are a favourite within the dog showing fraternity. This I think demonstrates how successful they are at containing dogs of all sizes. They are expensive but they do the job. They can sometimes be found second hand but they're snapped up very quickly. I don't use them, preferring to regard the awning as the dog space. This ensures that the dogs never toilet where they shouldn't, I think they might, in an open to the elements enclosure.

Are we discussing windbreaks or portable dog compounds? I may be tempting criticism here but in my opinion the latter do not look particularly pleasant on sites which, again in my opinion, are about sharing spaces and shared enjoyment. I can understand the need mind for a few dog owners but our dogs enjoyed freedom albeit somewhat contained by leads and tethers but always 'overseen' by us.

We have our now 25 year old Isabella Acryl steel framed windscreen.

It has been a brilliant bit of kit for its designed task, shield wind.

We have very rarely needed to deploy it at club site, the pitches on these are generally too compact and an amount of shielding comes from the close by vans. The pitches are so tightly boxed in that making things even worse seems to have no place.

It is in its element on more open CLs and rally sites.

Only two down sides, the steel tubing frame including top spreader rails make it very heavy, and its up front price is very expensive though amortised over its potentially very long life, this becomes tolerable.

Here is the current little changed version, it has just got the window now days:
