The battery has had it; the question is, why? It’s quite new but does happen.

Could be a faulty charger but difficult to diagnose without test equipment. If it were mine I would simply replace the battery and hope that does it as the alternative is to take the van back to the dealer and get it tested. I doubt the battery is covered in the warranty but obviously if anything else is a problem it should be covered. Maybe talk to them on the phone if not local.

i had the carbon monoxide alarm going off in the caravan only to realise the battery was boiling its backside of and smelling like rotten eggs, used my friends battery at the weekend to see if this happened again, no problem now we know its not the charger its the battery.

I know this is obvious but the cheaper batteries- you know the type- the ones that are stacked up at the Caravan dealers showroom at about £60 or £70 quid- are far more susceptible to this happening. Spend twice as much on say a Banner Bull and you have a completely different animal!

Battery for caravan is a separate purchase and is usually warranted on purchase.

I bet it isn't the battery, it will be the regulator, replacing the battery will just lead to cooking the new one.

Have you checked the acid - water level ? If low, will become much lower quicker as battery is charged and gases given off.

As said you need to check the charger,  which may be ok, but working too hard because the battery voltage is not behaving for the charger to reduce the charge.

The battery is being overcharged probably because the charger is at fault and not regulating the charge. Or if an older caravan it could be a charger that doesn't regulate the charge at all and should not be left on all the time. Get the charger checked before installing a new battery or the same will happen to the new battery.
