Tinkerbell and Gigi - they're our pussycats

they travel with the caravan in baskets on their mats

Gigi is a big girl - Twinky's a live wire

but with us always nearby they get their hearts' desire.

They stay close by when going out as they are told to do,

coming back fr "Dreamies" like any good old crew.

We go to different places and stay for 4 weeks each,

exploring Britain's countryside - Oh! isn't it a peach.

The Summer seems to fly by quicker every year,

from April to September our paths are pretty clear.

Watching mice on every site in the lovely clover

spending more time sleeping now shows Summer's almost over.

On our way home now, all that's left is pence;

conservatory; central heating, makes a lot of sense.

We watch the birds from inside cosily entertained;

can't wait until next April when we'll do it all again.

    The story reminds me of a cat we used to have called "Smokey" a Russian Blue who had a great character. We inherited him when my wife's mum died.

    He travelled all over with in the caravan and we took him to Ireland and Europe on several occasions. He used to travel quite happily in his travel box. Once on site he would explore the location and always came back to our unit.

    We have a boat and go sailing which he used to enjoy until it got really rough which he didn't like too much, again he would quite happily explore the area whenever we were in port, of course one has to be careful of restrictions when in port.

    What a character he was and we sorely miss him.

    I love to see pets, of all varieties on sites. But i wonder why cats (or say rabbits or similar not caged animals or birds)  don't need to be restrained like dogs. Recently on C&CC site a cat wouldn't come out from under a van a few pitches down as the crows were having fun with it diving at the 2 cats, only 1 ran off. It caused a nuisance to another caravanner who had a dog tethered when they were sitting out with it, as the cat kept passing by 😉.

    We had cats for several years but never took them away, we didn't have the motorhome then either 😂
