School summer holidays
With the summer holidays nearly here we have some great ideas on how to keep the family entertained. We have 60 Tourer Explorer sites to choose from each with games, treasure hunts, activity books and fun competitions to fuel their imaginations. Lots of these sites have playgrounds or a games room – so ideal for summer days, even the rainy ones! There are also some amazing prizes to be won like a brand new Raleigh bike and Go Ape Adventure.
To find out more about our Tourer Explorer sites and other ideas to keep the children entertained have a look at our family sites area of the website.
Also don’t forget that from 30 July to 5 August we’ll be hosting fantastic picnics at selected Tourer Explorer sites to celebrate playweek. Send us your favourite photo of the day and the winning snap could be used in our magazine and on our website, plus you’ll get an epic picnic bundle from Mountain Warehouse. Bit late with this surely? School holidays started 2-3 weeks ago. Lots of Scottish children have enjoyed the warm weather.

I wish they all had them same weeks. I know where I then!

But surely you wouldn’t expect them to consider anywhere as far north as Scotland 🤔😜

Only to the point of moving to peak prices on sites in England that are perceived as being popular with the Scots as soon as our schools go on holiday.
The CCC on the other hand do not do this, so you can even still get the wrinkly discount until the English school holidays start.

They often are, Easy. It’s the age concession and non-EHU/grass option that makes them cheaper.

PD are you the CCC’s main cheerleader?😂, our Mr C often gets accused of C&MC cheerleading. . . .Now here you are🤔

We are currently on a C&CC site in northern England much cheaper than our usual C&MC site nearby which we love but as Kj says they are charging peak price while other lot are still on oldies discount. Glad we tried it its a lovely place and of course I booked a h/s just in case weather is great but hey it might not have been and at much less than C&MC we've treated ourselves to a lovely big 99 ice cream Oh and no trains whizzing by every 5 mins.

I also think it is unfair that the CAMC peak period in Scotland extends to cover the English school holidays, so still expensive right into early September.
Sites in Scotland therefor have a longer summer peak period than several of the sites in England.

Definitely unfair, when the influence extends as far down the east coast as Bridlington. Peak started here on I think the 29th of June (disappeared from list now) similar next year 28th June.
Did mean it was fairly easy to get a late booking though.😀
