13pin plug

Yes, push in then turn one quarter of a turn , and make sure you do the opposite fully at the other end or the pins might need aligning, have you got one of the those green plastic tools in case that happens.
I was a little 'nervous' when I first started using the 13 pin last September but it's second nature now

First put the green thing onto the plug and rotate it until it locks, you will feel it lock.
Rotate it the other way to remove the green thing but make sure you rotate it fully before retracting it. This lines up the plug to go on the car end.
Lift the lid and start with the lid shaped bit on the plug at about 9 o'clock, push gently and rotate clockwise till it locks.
Important, when you take it off rotate it fully anticlockwise so the lid shaped bit on the plug goes back to the 9 o'clock position or it will get out of alignment.
Do not force it at any time, if it wont go on start again with the green thing and realign it. The 13 pin is a good idea but not the most robust thing.

Neither did I, well I did but it got chucked in the 'may need it one day box' because I had no idea what it was for!
It was probably our 5th or 6th trip and I arrived at the storage yard and was going for quick hitch when the damned thing would not go on. I tried, OH tried, bloke in the storage place tried. Really could not work it out! Eventually with the interweb managed to align it with a stick and get it on!
Now use the green thing all the time.

Green thingy But if you didn't know it existed plugged OK so far, why do you now think you might need one? I can mis-align mine if I want, hold the cable & twist the outer part of the plug ..... but I don't.
