Kampa Rally Pro Awning on Bailey Ranger 460/2
I have a Bailey Ranger 460/2 of 2004 vintage and I am interested in purchasing a Kampa Rally Pro Air or poled awning for it.
I wish the awning to be as large as possible but I am having difficulty in choosing the appropriate size of awning as strictly interpreted none of the available sizes fit.
As I see it:
1. The 390 Kampa Rally Pro will not fit as there is not a long enough length of level awning rail. Even so I have seen a poled 390 awning on a Bailey 460/2 (unfortunately I did not enquire of the occupant.
2. The 330 overlaps a window. Kampa do show a Ralley Pro awning overlapping a window but this presumably affects window opening and possibly drafts.
3. The 260 is marginally too long if one is not prepared to accept slight window overlap or the fact that the awning would go perhaps 15 cms down the curve of the awning rail.
Is the choice of Air or poled version significant in deciding on size?
I would be grateful for any advice,
Best wishes,
John M.

Have you looked at the Kampa Rally Pro 200? I bought one (poles) at the beginning of this year to use instead of our Bradcot full awning, as it’s much lighter and very quick and easy to put up. I bought some rear poles as well, and working out how to extend them was the most difficult bit. We have a small caravan (Swift Challenger 480), and the door is near the back so we don’t have a problem with it overlapping the window. You don’t mention the 200, so I wondered if you’ve considered it, and whether the size is more suitable for you.
The only minor problem I had to overcome was fitting the draught skirt as the side of the awning doesn’t extend beyond the front of the wheel arch. After some thought I resolved it by using the figure of 8 track from our old awning to bridge the gap, then tying the cord on the draught skirt to the rear pole to support it.

Thank you for the replies.
The 200 version is too small for my purpose.
In respect of the 330, it is encouraging to hear about the window not being much of an issue. On the Bailey 460/2 the window surface is 2 cm out from the caravan body. Is this something similar to the Swift Challenger?
Kampa sell pads which might be helpful in filling gaps.
I am wondering if there is anyone with experience of these awnings on a Bailey Ranger 460/2. The problem with the Ranger is that the length of horizontal awning rail is approx 2.3 m. with it sloping gently thereafter to the end of the caravan.

I can’t tell you about the thickness of the windows on our Swift Challenger as we keep it at a storage site, due to having no space at home. From memory, they are quite thick, so could be 2cm, however the edge of the awning doesn’t cover our window so I can’t say it fits well. The back edges of the Kampa awnings do have a soft padded strip, though, so this might help the seal over the window, and protect it.

Thanks everyone.
The problem with the Bailey Ranger is that its roof is part sloping with only 2.3 m. of level awning.
An important aspect to me is that of quick set up. In the end I went for a Kampa Rally Pro 2.6 poled. The poles have a variable height so any minor changes in awning rail level will hopefully be accommodated. Also the 2.6 will not overlap a window.
To provide rather more space for storage I have also ordered the zip on annexe.
The adverts say that it is a 15 minute set up. This compares with an advertised 8 minute set up for the Kampa Air version which is £300 more in price. A reasonable trade off I feel even if I expect to take longer than advertised to set up the new awning,
Best wishes, John M
