Tents and electrics
Hi All
While not new to caravanning, motor homing my daughter and fiancee are they have a tent not a small one but not overly large and we stayed on a club site a couple of weekends ago.
When booking there is no facility to include electrics for tents and wondered why the pitch they were on was on grass and they had a caravan next to them on electrics we were across from them with electrics and had to look after the food for them in our van. They have a fridge which runs from 240 and the relevant cables etc so why will the club not allow them to use electrics personally i cannot see any difference.
When speaking to the warden about tents onsite he said that the club wants them so when they move up to a motorhome or caravan they will stay with the club, well i think they need to start letting them use electrics or they will go elsewhere
any views or comment welcomed
thanks

I think you need to speak to the club about your issue to see what the official line is.

I guess the historical layout of sites, pitches and the services provided will dictate to a degree. A few sites do have tents and a few have electric on tent pitches. We live in changing times, always have been though so what's around the corner may be interesting.

I think it is ongoing as far as tents are concerned, i know at Hillhead the majority if not all the tent pitches have EHU and at Ferry Meadows there are tent pitches with and without EHU,a call to Head office sites department may be more informative

I agree - they will go elsewhere. The C&CC accommodate tents requiring electrics - as do many of the commercial sites my DIL uses. On the lovely CS we use regularly, near Malton, the owner even provides 50m hook-up cables so that tents can be pitched virtually anywhere on the site.
