Door on wrong side.
Afternoon all,
Considering buying a Burstner Marano. Only issue is door on wrong side. Will this cause issues on club sites?
Regards
Steve

No, not at all, depending on the pitch mind it may just be courteous to drive in to the peg but that can be a good thing anyway depending on the slope of the pitch. Best to ask for clarification if you want to pitch differently to the pitching diagram on the site map hand out at arrival though but we all do that don't we!

No issues at all, Steve.
The pitching rules, in most circumstances, are your choice of either offside rear corner or nearside front corner to the peg so vans can pitch either way around.

Many thanks for the replies.
Have had a caravan for 20 years-so all this is a bit new!
Kind regards
Steve

No problem.

But it’s only on the right side if you’re inside facing the front.😛

Car drivers get out on the same 'wrong side'. You do come hear stories of people getting annoyed if the van parked next to them is on the 'wrong side' but as the number of foreign motorhomes increases, it is much less of a problem. I've had three wrong sided vans over the last 18 years and nobody has ever said anything to me.
One thing to check is that you can see the road behind when you are at the door eg through your wing mirrors so you exit safely with knowledge rather than a wing and a prayer.

Perhaps caravanning/motorhoming in Nineveh is the answer. (Jonah 4.11)

My parents had continental vans and I'm onto my third continental M/H and in 30 years have only had one minor issue, and that was a miserable woman who probably shouldn't leave her house, the warden effectively told her to either shut up or leave.
Conversely I do tend to use the passenger door if stopped in a lay-by, but that's rare.

No problems with pitching at club sites nose in or out. Just be aware if you intend attaching an awning on some pitches, it might be best to ask for advice from the wardens before you start and are asked to reposition! Some sites like you to pitch in a set manner e.g. Looking at the pitch towards the EHU bollard the order is car on the left, the van in the middle and awning on the gravel to the right. Some commercial sites have van on the left, awning in the middle on the gravel and car on the grass to the right between pitches. Have seen quite a few folk being asked to reposition, usually after the corner steadies are down as they try to enjoy a relaxing cuppa!
If you are nose in on a fully serviced pitch you may need extra long waste and water hoses as the drains and taps are usually near the bollards.

Thanks for the advice,
Finally bought an Autosleeper Cotswold-so the door is on the correct side.
Thanks
Steve

Perhaps all caravans/MH's should have the door on the back to save arguments.
