AD, we’ve had this conversation before. When I leave the UK it’s to use Hotels for my breaks👍🏻. I fly, I don’t sail.

Which organization is that then?as tents are accepted on very many cc sites unless it is not feasable

even the ccc have to have restrictions on what LV cannot use all their sites

Yes Tents are allowed on a growing number of CMC sites as are Camping pods and Yurts. This is a forward thinking concept where the CMC can earn much more money from their pitching areas. Also broaden the appeal of campsites for families and young people. ---- Not to the total exclusion of touring vans though, as there will need to be pitches available for those people.

I do wonder why those with Overtherepostitis cannot accept that so many people with LV enjoy the experience of touring over here as well as people enjoy touring over there.

Additionally they seem to have an added complication that insists that when you do go over there it has to be with a LV. Other modes of holidaying over there are simply not to be considered as possible or desirable.

I do wonder why those who have, apparently, spent the last year on a survey researching beautiful places to stay in the UK with superior sites to those run by the club, should be so keen to suggest that "over there" is so much better/braver/mind broadening etc.than using the results of their survey.

Surely they'd have been better off carrying out their survey "over there"? wink

"Over There" -- What does that mean ? sounds like something a " Little Englander" would say about any country which is a home to foreigners.;  Not that I'm suggesting that you personally fall into that category. frownwink

Surveying Continental campsites ------ Been there ! Done That !!  Try keeping up with the posts M - or make reference to your  "little black book" smilewink

K - so you've never seen the expression "ovey there" used on CT before? Where have you been all this time? To help you out, try looking for posts from folk who spend a lot of time "over there" - they seem quite fond of it.

    Glad to have helped! wink

I agree with Dave Cyn rebranding is still work in progress - signage is still not uniform to represent the new. This has to be spread over several years so that members are not told the true cost.

Red Pennent is now meaningless as it does not reflect the club at all - so more expense down the line.

Yet you managed to waste a lot of that weather just coming on CT and liking posts several times throughout each day wink

That is a very good point AD I will do👍🏻, some love the 3rd World vibe but I’m a 21st century luxury lover every time😊. It shows that out there is something for everyone from the parochial to the exotic👏🏻👏🏻

I rarely look at any part of the website beyond CLs. I totally despair that this is the worst website I ever use. Every time I look at it I have to click on the stupid cookies message. It will not remember my password to the extent that I have to log in again while searching for a CL.

Try a search of CLs, you might see the first but then I have to  open a new tab, open caravan club site, to see the next one, search again, look, doesn’t suit you, never mind look for another, start a new tab, open Caravan club, hunt for the search for CLs...

only a couple of years ago I could look around and choose with those problems, it was much much better.

There is no need to search again each time to examine a list of possible sites. On my iPad I simply hold on the name of the CL, to bring up a dialog box that offers the option of opening the specific CL in a new window. I assume left clicking with the mouse on the name would do the same on a windows PC. To examine others on the list simply go back to it and repeat the procedure with the next one you want to look at. No need to do another search, unless you want to vary the parameters.

I'm not defending the CT software but I do not have the problems you describe, it 'remembers' my login and I don't get the cookies messages, I do have to do this when using CT on a computer that I have not used CT on before but after that no problems (even when I have 'guest' account logins), so there might be a problem with your general settings?

Agree with comments re.PDS's problem. Once you have a list of CLs for an area you can right click the mouse and open a new tab with each CL details whilst retaining original page on original tab.

I have to say that this site performs perfectly well for me but then I am lucky to have a good internet connection at home - it is a little slower when away, but still OK. I would suggest that many problems occur due to poor internet signals and/or old hardware. That said this site shouldn't be slower than other comparable sites for anybody.

How long ago was the "re-brand"?   Today they have changed the favicon* from the well loved flag to the new rear-view of pig design.

Thanks for comments, I get one style of search the first attempt, but if it ever reloads after refresh I get a different sort of search.

I even tried the map function (selected CLs) saw three I wanted to look at but coult only choose one!  Tried again but never got the same options. Recently, while trying to refresh,  it takes many minutes before reporting website not responding.

just tearing my hair out and there is not much left!

Thanks NC, I should have put right not left in my post. Got confused, my excuse is I don't use a mouse much these days, as I prefer my pad.😂

Totally agree that slow internet, combined with the general slow speed of the site certainly does not help.

But Moulesy. 'Tis yourself who uses that expression, as seen on many many threads. . surprised Others are either quoting your posts.--- OR -- copying your posting style (which you should take as a real compliment)   wink

I always like to give credit where credit is due.  wink
