    So, can anyone enlighten me as to whether or not any CLs opened in February please as there was no info given about these in the month of March? Thank you.

    WN, the new CLs that Maddie posted in February ( see page 6) covered all those that were show as new in both the March & April of the club's magazine. So there was no need for a March posting. Hope this helps.

    Woodside farm Cl  near ashbourne derbyshire opened july 2017 .part hardstanding ,tap between pitches ,16A EHU open all year £12 per night.FB @woodside caravan site

    Hi CLMaddie

    May I make a suggestion for all of the new CL site's. 

    When they go "live" on the CL search facility, can you make it compulsory that the site owner has an up to date picture of the site. 

    Even when existing sites renew their membership with the Caravan and Motorhome Club, can you request photographs of their site please.

    If I search for a site and it just has your "standard" picture I will not book it.

    Please see below the list of sites which Opened in April. Some of these sites were previously open but had closed at some point and now been reinstated. 

    These are listed as County - Listing Town - CL site

    Some of you may be please to learn that I have had the go ahead to post a list of any sites which have closed in April. I will not be able to share the reason for their closures.

    As with the sites opened these are listed by County - Listing Town - CL site

    • Cheshire - Tarporley - Rose Cottage
    • Cornwall - Launceston - North Lodge
    • Hampshire - Lymington - Long Acre Farm
    • North Yorkshire - Easingwold - Oakdene Farm
    • Shropshire - Shrewsbury - Sutton Grange Nurserys

    Hi StarGazzy

    Getting Photos on the CL pages is a project we have been working on for a few years now as we agree this is a big factor for many members to decide if they will stay there or not. 

    A new process was introduced to our Field Team who manage the opening of sites just a few weeks ago where they will need to have a photograph of the site before it will be advertised on our website. 

    A lot of CL members have been reluctant to do this in the past as they wanted to have vans on their sites first so they can be in the picture.

    Moving forward you should be seeing all new CL sites with at least one photograph on our website.

    With existing sites we are continuing to encourage them to provide photographs for their pages and this is an on going project with the team at HO and our CLA's who visit the sites yearly.

    Maddie can you please explain why the list that you have posted over the last two months do not agree with those printed in the May and June editions of the club's magazine? Some do but many don't.

    Sorry for the delay in responding to you, the magazine is always 2 months ahead, so anything closed in July would appear in the September Magazine. Some Openings or Closures may be in the following month due to a cut off date for the magazine content being earlier than month end. 

    I hope that made sense and has answered your question.

    Dave, I don’t know whether it’s true and I sincerely hope it’s not but my source was pretty reliable as he is a CL owner- apparently he was contacted by the club and asked to put his prices up! Now, if that’s true I am appalled. These are private businesses and the club has no business suggesting prices! I can only imagine - again, if it’s true,  the move was to protect their own prices and make them look not too bad??

    The following site from the July listing is in Licolnshire not Norfolk

    Norfolk - Woodhall Spa - Poplar Farm

    This will be important for the owners when the new sites directory goes to print.

    Hi Merve and Dave,

    The CL sites are independent businesses and it is up to them how they choose to run their site (as long as they are within the rules of the Certification) we do not get any form of financial gain from owners.

    We do not encourage CL sites to increase their prices and would advise them to check the prices of the surrounding CLs to ensure they are not pricing themselves too high.
