With so many members, the Club must be doing something right.

Whenever I talk to anyone about sites, others seem to judge how good  other competitors are, in comparison to Club sites. It seems they've set the benchmark and to be fair, on the whole, they deserve the accolades.

Including everything else which is available to members, (CL's to name just one) I personally think the membership is excellent value.

I most certainly agree the membership fee is good value...

we get much more than this back on our many ferry crossings and we also love CLs...

i also agree the club has set a consistent standard which is, in general, maintained across the network....

...but don't confuse a consistently mid standard with the heights reached by some sites both here and abroad....

the club still has a fair way to go before reaching these.....

....and for JVB.....even I know that €19 for a top class site with pool(s) and other facilities is a heck of a lot cheaper (and miles better value) than a £33 club site....which was not even in what I call high season.

I think you are forgetting the IHMO, or are you judging again for us allwink

What might be good for you, or judged as good for you, might be absolute rubbish in someone else's view?

I know value when I see it for me is what perhaps you should have said? Once again you are imposing your ideas of value onto the rest of us. You are not the absolute judge of these things?

I might have look at at that site you are talking about and decided that they would have to pay me to stay there, while I look at a club site and think its is good value for me and I'll pay them, which I do.

Remember that (perfectly exposed and composed) photo of that scrub land you displayed. You thought it was caravan heaven but I though it was a caravan hell but fully accept your view.

I am not doubting your view on that site but you should accept  anyone else's idea of value is just as valid as yours?

"Over regulated ( but under enforced), overcrowded and over priced."

David, do you mean overcrowded like this? Or over priced  (at a touch under £16 a nightin mid June?) Over regulated? Well I just use my common sense to follow what seem to me a pretty reasonable set of guidelines on site and it's never been a problem so far! smile

Good for you, David, and if it suits you personally and you consider it good value, well that's all that matters at the end of the day to you personally. But it's a bit presumptive to assume or imply that that would or should be anyone else's opinion. I'm sure there are many folk who love Bladon Chains for its proximity to Woodstock and Blenheim and would say that it was good value for them. And why would that everything wrong? There is no "better" or "worse" really, just "different". smile

I'm humbold, so many sites we love, so many sites others love, we love this pitch, others like that pitch. Some want this feature, others that! We are all different, one person's delight is another's poison. Let's just accept the fact that we are similar but different! But surely let's not assume we are all the same. It's called Life!

Putting aside the likes of speeding on site, excessive noise or thoughtless antisocial behaviours, I'm really at a loss as to which specific rules are in need of that 'challenge', pray enlighten us!

    Hi everyone,

Just catching up on this thread, and whilst there has been some great discussion, much of this has now become personal. I'm sure most of you are aware of the CT guidelines, but as a reminder or for anyone new please be kind, respectful, polite and considerate whilst using our forum.

You can find the full guidelines here.

Thanks for bearing this in mind, happy posting!

    Hannah

"There lies the challenge. ---- If those rules were enforced, there would never ever be any forum posts from disappointed customers advising of breaches of those rules spoiling their enjoyment."

Possibly more of a challenge would be full clarity and universal agreement across the community as to how rules are written, interpreted and then applied. As I see it some folk spin the written word to favour their perspective and wishes. This is common, as I witness things, in all aspects of our lives today.

    It goes like this-

Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools but trouble ensues when fools consider themselves wise men and wise men act as fools!
