What sort of site are you looking for, mick? First two weeks in August might be difficult and certainly very expensive at the major holiday park sites. Near Fordingbridge in the New Forest there is a CL we stayed on last year. Nothing on the site itself for children but a huge playing field just over the hedge for them to let off steam.Easy drive to Bournemouth for the beach etc. Have a look at Foxhill Farm CL.

Difficult to answer, what is it that the children need? Do you want a place where you can have quality time to interact with them or do you want them to have 'some' freedom to express themselves. Often we went on holiday to spend time with our children and as such the area was more important than the site itself. Sometimes mind although we never left them totally to their own devices, they loved the space and time to be 'themselves'. Some sites lend themselves to this although we were always mindful of our responsibilities!
