One simple fact is that it is pointless comparing UK sites with those in mainland Europe in terms of cost or provision. A bit like comparing a Cox's Orange Pippin with a Valencia Orange

Ah, but maybe the "proposed" £10 CC-lite membership would still include access to the forum (on the cheap obviously!)

Something to look forward to?  undecided

The other thing is those of us who in the past travelled "over there"with our own accomodation  when the sprogs were young ,but now if going "over there" at our age like to be "chauffeured",have found as thousands of others including many from "over there"that this clubs model is what we all want

    Definitely.

It's fifteen quid for Motorhome Fun, no sites included !

I think we can safely assume that will preclude K.....smile

Truth hurts does it. ----  An honest post which praises the CMC is obviously unacceptable in your eyes. ---- Offering a suggestion for improving the one small area which lets the otherwise good CMC reputation down is NOT having a go at anybody.  You obviously failed to read the opening post properly, or you would have seen how I praised the work of the on- site staff. smile

If at some time, the Forum becomes open only to customers who have paid their £51.00 annual fee --- so be it ----- most of us are members of other forums anyway--- If you feel so strongly about non  paid up customers posting on the open forum and want it stopped,   why don' t you take your proposal  to the next AGM. smile

Until then there is absolutely no restriction, so long as the forum rules are adhered to.  smile

    cool

If cost was the only factor, we'd use our vans on the drive at home. Water, electricity, Shower and loo facilities available. All the comforts of a CAMC site without the hassle of a peg. wink

Absolutely agree, CY, which makes me wonder why some folk keep banging on and on about the cost of sites! It's the "know the price of everything and the value of nothing" philosophy I guess! undecided

we have used our van on the drive at home on many occasions for large gatherings where we invariably lose our bed to (non paying) guests....we quite like it....

as you say, CY, not a lot of difference between what we get on our drive and a pitch on a CC site.....although there are some advantages....

perhaps one of the reasons why we like Aires....?

weve got a HS (with gravel)....although I could choose grass......just like a Cc site.....

an EHU but at home I have the option not to use it at a reduced rate, so that's a bit more flexible

i can also park nose in, nose out or across the 'pitch' so another more flexible option

we have a 'site' shower,/lol by going through the front door....

but no wardens, no arrival times and (as CY says) no pegs....

if only all sites could be like this.....wink
