WiFi or not ?
After a week at the Brighton site and pressure by us on Air Angels as well as apparently from the club after a week of inaction we at last have WiFi. Sure the club did their bit but frankly a week of nothing. When we spoke to Air Angels yesterday they implied the CMC were not bothered by the lack of service. If the club was a 4 star hotel they would have to be bothered so what' different as a CMC, after all they charge premium rates so the least they could do is to ensure services like WiFi are working.
Not the first site this year without WiFi perhaps the club need to source a better provider

None of which makes it right given the cost of sites and WiFi. Surely the aim ought to be to drive up standards not accept 2nd rate services which we have paid for. Seems some members are happy to pay preimum rates for a poor, unprofessional service. They need to get real

Who are these members that pay 'premium rates' for unprofessional service?
I have rarely found the service to be poor and usually very good. Does that mean that I am not 'real'? Please restrict your criticism to sites and not fellow members when they are not disadvantaging you pair.

I have some sympathy for the OP. If you have paid for a service you expect it to work. The longest a WiFi service should be down during working hours should be no more than hours rather than days. The other Club seem to manage quite well with their WiFi service. I have also been on sites that use Camping Connect and that seems to work OK. I have no issue with paying for Club WiFi but I do expect it to work.
I would encourage the OP to e-mail the Sites Department or at least add it to a site review.

What is getting real? I’m real and I don’t buy the Wi-fi, or is that unreal?

if a decent service can be provided free in places as far flung as St Martin de Ré (where I am) and Lewis (where TW is), I really think the club should be able to manage it, certainly at their prices...
im sure, neither of the two sites I mentioned will be charging anywhere near CC prices...

Don’t forget, BB, that it’s not free. There is no extra charge made which isn’t quite the same thing.

The majority of "problems" with site internet is the poor service that is a known problem is Openreach the off shoot of BT, who no matter what company you are with, who uses a landline, at some point will be at the behest of them,as is noted by the many thousands who still have poor internet speeds ,and on club sites by inconsiderate use by some who although "advised" it is not so ,still expect the speeds some are lucky to have in urban areas, and then throw their toys out the pram when they find it not so, and £25 per year is very cheap for most (ask Malc)

As far as I am concerned there is no such thing as free wifi. One most commercial sites if I purchase wifi for my usual 5 night stay it costs me £10 for two devices. I do not know what CC charges are but C&CC would be £10 for one device and I suspect similar for CC. Which is dearer. However, in the past I have been happy to pay £25 a year for my usage.
OH uses the internet a lot less than me on holiday and we will be making more use of our mobile router as we are using more non CC sites this year and so will still pay £25 for one access.

I know exactly what you mean, Micky, and that’s my argument for not wanting it included in club site fees. If it worked efficiently, as at the site I’m on now, it would be one thing, but to be forced to subsidise a second rate service (as it is in my experience) is another matter.

Glad to hear how WiFi is not a problem to you members, well it is important to us for a number of unselfish reasons which others clearly don't grasp. Hence why we pay for CMC sites with WiFi
Since opening the thread Air Angels have phone, apologised, confirm that Wi Fi is now live in Brighton and unrealistically compensated us. Would it have happened without the interaction of yesterday !!!
The key which most bloggers seem to miss is whatever the cost that is what the CMC decided it required for a professional service, no where can we find that the CMC are saying it might or might not work. Members who seem prepared to accept any latent standard and really need to "get real"
It' just a waste of time trying to have a meaningful dialogue on this forum, as they say "That' us OUT"

Why the need to treat your fellow members with such derision, W&J?
I realised long ago that site Wi-fi wasn’t reliable enough for me so I made other arrangements. Why not do the same so you are independent of the club and AA for your Wi-fi needs? That way you'll have one less thing to moan about to the club.

As with any technology there can be problems. Without knowing what they are it is difficult for any of us to comment on wether the CC or AA have been dragging their feet sorting it out. At least with somewhere like Brighton there is almost certainly going to be a 4G alternative and presumably if you have bought a weeks access for your stay, (rather than a year pass) you would be entitled to a refund.

I do not think so, complaint about poor service.

Sorry to hear about the loss of wi-fi W&J. On the whole I think if you want a very reliable service the one provided by the club isn't good enough, especially if a lot of people are using it at the same time and attempting to stream when they are asked not to do so. The only way to get reliable wi-fi is to make provision yourself, there are some spots in the UK where nothing will work but you'll normally find access is good in most places. To my mind the club provision is antiquated and if you want reliability use one of the better methods available to everyone.

A complaint about poor service would be in the form of an email to the provider/ head office? Using an open forum is just having a discussion/ debate/ moan, no matter what the subject

But not a lot

I also think if the cost was rolled into the pitch fee, the sevice would deteriorate down the pan with the I paid for it I am having it brigaid, the best way is to make your own arrangements and you will not be disappointed unless there is no 4G,how you stop members streaming on site is another problem.

That is fair comment and what I suggested up thread. However the point of this forum, amongst other things, is to raise issues of experience on Club sites and in the past issues raised here have helped the Club to decide further actions. Many won't feel an issue is important enough to go down the route you suggest but will feel happier mentioning here on the forum and if there is enough supporting comments it might just click with the Club.

I agree with Wayne and Judie . Just arrived at Chester Fairoaks and the WiFi here is completely unreliable. It’s so slow and constantly drops out. I paid for a years use and have so far been disappointed with so called service not just on this site but also others. Why the club do not supply strong enough boosters to supply the whole site in this day and age is beyond me. It’s not rocket science.

You pays your money and you takes pot luck.
The experience you quote, T30, is the reason I don't buy it.

It's is rarely anything to do with the boosters, on most sites there are sufficient to provide a good coverage. However, if the base bandwidth isn't there you are going to get drop outs when too many folk try to connect.
The total bandwidth for Chester Fairoaks, which is down to BT, is between 1 and 8 MB For comparison, as we have infinity at home I get a speed of 68 MB, just for me. If the infrastructure is not available there is little the club can do about it.
A week ago at Tewkesbury site, where there is fibre to a box just outside I was getting 8MB download and 3MB upload.
