Worse than we thought!
Why oh why isn't something done? No excuses now, banning lead shot from being indiscriminately littered across the countryside is the only answer. Lead is a very toxic substance as all sensible folk know. Surely those that cause this death, pain and destruction realise what they are doing? Enjoyment? Do they not care?

Yes, we fishermen have acted and no longer use lead, turning that blind eye and continuing to add to the toxic spread of lead in shooting is not helpful at all. It needs totally banning now. Much suffering now and In the future will only continue if we don't. It's just cruel and selfish! What's worse, they do it in the name of fun, for enjoyment!

Lead shot has been banned in this country, over wetlands, the shoreline and SSSI's since 1999.

That was a token, very slightly helpful move but has in no way stopped the scandalous spaying of toxic lead across huge areas of our country. This is killing now and will kill many animals creatures in the future. Even the areas covered by 1999 act is peppered from decades of 'sport'! Birds and animals know nothing of either the boundaries for the 'no go' and permitted areas and are no way protected from this ongoing poisoning.
Even clay pigeon enthusiasts can use lead outside these areas. Why?
