Simple wiring question

I have posted this on another site so if you have read on there apologies.

Recently I had my cable replaced ( dragged on road while towing). Yesterday when returning from trip another motorist told me that car indicated right and caravan indicated left! When we check lights it usually Brakes? OK. Lights? OK. Indicators ? OK. but not specifying which indicators are being operated. So were not aware of problem.

I am guessing something went wrong with the rewiring. Should I just swap the wires in the plug ! Yellow on 1 for Green on 4 as an interim measure then take it back to dealer to check other wiring?

As you say, it sounds as though they have wired pins 1 and 4 incorrectly. As the rest of the lights are ok just swap the wires on 1 Yellow and 4 Green

Assuming it's the caravan that's now wrong, I'd take it back out of principle

I certainly wouldn't be towing the 'van anywhere once I was aware of that fault!

I would just get on and correct it, and let the dealer know what I thought later.  You are quite certain though that it worked correctly before the cable was repaired??

This is comparing the caravan to the back of the car - what about the front . . . ?

Front is showing as aspected , ;van is showing opposite.

Your post makes interesting reading for those of us who simply switch on our hazard warning so as to check both circuits simultaneously. Which said, only checking each side in turn after work has been done, should be enough.

Tow it to whoever repaired it and give them hell, it could be fatal. Remember when towing that caravan indicators are reversed, when giving a signal, and maybe get someone to follow you, stopping other vehicles getting between you.
