Did anyone else watch the BBC adaptation of King Lear last night? It had a stellar cast and brilliant performances by Anthony Hopkins and Jim Broadbent in particular. I'm not always impressed by "updated" adaptations of Shakespeare, but this one stayed pretty true to the original script and certainly hit the spot for me. smile

It was on a bit late so I plan to see it on catch-up.

I shall go the catch up route as well. Two great actors!

I watched the first 30 minutes of this last night. As others have said, there was a top quality cast and the dialogue was reasonably authentic, but it was disappointing, as it didn't translate well to the period in which it was set.

I set it to record , but I doubt if I will watch any more.
