Hello,

Has anyone resealed any of their outside lockers (or other components), awning rails etc., and if so what sealant did you use? My van is an Elddis Crusader just on three years old and must say the sealing is not great, disappointing in fact considering the cost of these vans! Interested in what you might have done?

Roy

To repair a delaminated front window I used Creeping Crack Cure. To reseal a roofvent I used Hodgson's seamseal CV, a non drying bedding sealant. To reseal the awning rails, I used my local repairer, it's a messy job.

Your van will have been built using "solid".DIY re seal would be a nightmare!

    Hi

We also have a Elddis Crusader 2014 which looks very untidy on the seams where the sealant as sank in places creating gullies for the dirt and mildew to collect and was wondering if it's possible to "fill" this sinkage and smooth out to help prevent further collection of dirt.  Typical Elddis shoddy workmanship.

Anybody any ideas on what to use?

I did my front roof joint with Soudal RV61 as the original manufacturer had done because it was still soft after 9 years, fairly simple to do. Clean the area after removal with white spirit to get it spotless, the white spirit leaves a white residue so clean that off with meths and leave to dry before applying new stuff .
