Can anyone tell me where I can get a towbar and electrics fitted for the above car?

I have been trying to get BMW to quote for a fitting, but can't get a reply, and other sites on the internet say that they can't due to the bumper on the M-Sport, you can not fit a tow-bar??  but having read a review in tow car mag, they have an m-sport and it has a tow-bar fitted???  any advise would be welcome

thanks

Is your car type approved to tow? There'll be a sticker on your car somewhere, usually on the A or B post that has the max axle weights & gross train weight, if the gross train weight is blank then it can't tow.

Just went on the witter website which is where i got my X1 towbar fitted. They have given a price for a westfalia detachable with 13 pin fitted for £652 for the x4 m sport

Yes the car can tow, it just seems to be the bumper styling.  although if I wanted to buy a towbar I can off the net, but then I would need someone to fit it!

Yes, I've been talking to Jeremy at witter and he says it's not suitable for the M-Sport, it did initially not have an the M-Sport as an exclusion, but it is they way you enter the details in their site, I was really hoping this was the solution!

I've just had a look at the current official BMW website vehicle configurator and see that a factory-fitted towbar can be specified for X4 M Sport variants, so as a towbar is available as an RPO then surely it must be possible to retrofit one at the dealer, too.

Not sure of your location, but I used Chris at Automech.

    Tel 07817 101293.

He is an authorised fitter for Witter/Westfalia. Has a unit in Derby and also does mobile fittings at home or your place of work.

He has done our Antara and then our Jeep Grand Cherokee when we upgraded.  He has also done my mates Volvo XC 60.

    Great job
