Street Furniture - Englethwaite Hall
One of our favourite sites - really beautiful as are the adjacent walks in the woods and around the ponds. Was surprised to see this eyesore on a visit last year.
i have been negotiating this corner for 21 years without the help of coloured stones in a variety of very large outfits - please take them away and restore the beauty of this site.

I am sure you can get, and have got round this corner many times, but it appears that others can't and have chewed up the grass a bit.

We were there as the first site of our current trip, and I can't say that, although I did notice the stones, they didn't detract from the beauty of the site IMO. I can fully understand why the wardens had coloured them as some of the corners are a bit tight for large units.

Sounds like standard military practice. If you can move it, pick it up. If you can't move it, paint it. If it moves by itself, salute it.

I am more amazed by the fact that on certain sites caravans regularly run over the grass edge on the inside of a particular curve and the obvious problem is not addressed. I am remembering noticing arrivals just after me doing the same as I had done and catching the edge of the grass on the inside of the same bend. Was the reason that we were all bad drivers/towers or that there was no widening on the inside of a 90 degree bend? If so many get it wrong at such a bend (maybe too relaxed after a long drive) then I personally question the alignment and lack of widening at such a point on a relatively narrow site road.
