Tow car suggestions

Help please. We have just bought a caravan ( we had a motorhome). We were due to pick it up Monday. We had also paid a deposit on a Kia Sportage - due to massive cock up on garage - car has not materialised (long story). Deposit and apologies given but left without a tow car and lost all the previous search notes.

So we need to start looking again for a suitable tow car. New or used up to 25 thousand. Diesel automatic to tow Coachman VIP 460/2 mtplm 1439.

Can anyone suggest good match please.

why not another Sportage? Either one in stock or pre-reg for quick delivery? Try the Kia website and you can find second hand ones all over the country, or use Carwow and search for nearly new?

Why choose something bigger (and boxier) than you need if you have no expectation of changing to a heavier 'van?

Buying a car is a very personal thing. £25000 should buy you a fantastic tow car ... Merc ML350? Jeep Grand Cherokee? .... but what one person might consider the perfect car, others wouldn't give the time of day due to lack of mpg or too big or too high road tax. I'd only have a torque converter auto wheras other are quite happy with a DSG type auto. Do you want a saloon or estate or 4x4 or pseudo 4x4 ..... the list is endless

    exactly this ^

Everybody will have their own individual opinions to offer you, these being largely based on personal experience and preference.

Buying a car is also in my opinion quite personal and no doubt your wants and needs etc will be different to mine.

£25K will offer you a very broad spectrum of vehicles, saloons, cabrio's, estates, 4x4's, mpg's, suv's, pick-ups etc etc be prepared to do alot of searching !!

I dont understand the problem. If the Sportage is ok then source another one or its near cousin the Tuscan. As others have mentioned try Carwow and drivethedeal for (often very heavily) discounted cars from stock. If you are not hung up on the Kia then try VW or Skoda for stock Tiguans and Kodjac’s. Cars aint selling so if you know what you are doing and dont look desparate to buy you can secure a very goid deal.

The Sportage is a fine towcar for your caravan (except petrol version),look for another Kia dealer, we have never bought a new Kia, as they are so popular ,and with a good seven  year warranty ,get an ex lease much cheaper and normally low milage still with a longer warranty than nearly all other cars on the market
