Gas vent removal
Hi Everyone
Our motorhome layout has water heater and gas fire on the nearside and there is a removeable exterior vent close to these appliances.
The offside has 3 way fridge which has its own electrolux vents and gas hob and grill next to it.
My question is if I pull over in a layby and just want to boil a kettle do I really need to remove the gas Vent on the opposite side of the vehicle?
Many Thanks Shane & Shirley

It’s my understanding that the removable vent cover is for when you run your boiler/heating on gas. Check your handbook.

If what is being discussed is/are flue covers, then the associated device should automatically shut down if any cover is inadvertently not removed, on firing it up.
So, to boil a kettle which involves no use of these covered flues can be done without concern, and any use of kit with a flue cover will look after itself, safety wise.

Thank you all for your responses, the guy I bought the motorhome from said it always needed to be removed even for the gas rings. I have followed this advice but couldn't see any link between the rings & any of the vents so no viable reason why it should be removed.
