I am on the site at Ayr at present and there is a poster warning that in Scotland there are, on average, 100 caravan fires every year

Most of the awnings onhere this w,end seemed to be on motor caravans, (not one went out) unless they did not mark their pitch, I wonder if size for size they needed more living space compaired to caravanswink

The site though is not a privately owned site upon which changes are being imposed. It is a CC site David

(Hope you are enjoying your hol)

I would have thought that CMC customers would be happy that the CMC added another site to their network.  SO why is there so much negativity about this addition within this thread. ? - Strange  !!

Apart from those that do not wish changes to existing site I see little, if any, negativity. Saying that the site presently fails to meet CC standards in a number of areas is observation and not negativity

Once again,  instead of being  pleased that the CMC have added a unique and interesting site to their network,  we have CMC members moaning about the new site. Apparently it has character, charm and an interesting layout with little cul de sacs and nice secluded areas.  ------That will never do in some  people's eyes. surprised

Accept the site as it is and enjoy it.  Or if you can't,  allow others who get enjoyment from camping in  unique and nice surroundings, to do so. There are plenty of other sites on the CMC network for those who don't like the new site.

I noticed that the old website has gone and even if you try it will redirect you to the club's. The booking page seems correct (and remarkably empty for a club site apart from SP) but there appears to be some problems with double bookings, not usually a club defect so some problem with the reclassification of pitches (more likely as its show empty) and/or the old system?  Also it now only lists 65 hardstandings out of 133 pitches.

So you've less than a 50% chance of getting a hardstanding then....

I'll give it a miss then......

The web page makes no sense at present. It states 29 tent and 73 touring but then seems to total that to 133 pitches?? How does that work?

If there are 73 touring of which 65 are hardstand then I would take my chance.

Can somebody please report my post so that the club can try to correct its web page. Do they not proof read I wonder??

There are some seasonal pitches which might be affecting the remaining numbers.

Hi EasyT. Sorry about the confusion. I've requested clarification on this and that the website is amended.

    Hi EasyT,

I've heard back from my colleagues and they have advised that there are 31 seasonal pitches. We wouldn't list these as part of the touring pitches as they aren't available for sale. The total pitch number is shown to give you an idea of the overall size of the site. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions. smile

We have been to Bingham Grange a few times and had already booked  again  for this year before the C&MC announced they had bought it. I am fairly certain things will have to change but all for the good, I am sure. I only hope one of them is to improve and enlarge the toilet and shower facilities up to Club standard. I really did not like the unisex ones. I am looking forward to our visit there next month and in future years to see the improvements. Although I must add very quickly I loved Bingham .Grange for very many other reasons which I hope will not change it too much and I feel confident the C&MC saw what a lovely site it is and snapped it up.

We are sad too, having loved the site for its peace and quiet being Adults Only. There is NOTHING wrong with the individual shower rooms, infact the newest two wet rooms are superior to the Clubs ones!!! Why not leave it as an Adults Only site? There’s plenty of room for all kinds within the Club. Don’t think we’ll be rushing back now

We've been through this. As an AO site it would not be available to all members.
