Window falling out!
Hi all, brand new to caravanning so be gentle 😁 Whilst cleaning our Sprite Major 6 2006 today ready for our first trip away next weekend we opened the large front window. It was open for around 2 hours however when we came to close it the whole window came off. Almost like the glue had melted around the frame. We managed to get the screws back in although unsure as to whether it will still be water tight? So the window itself is fine but the frame is a little bit out. Obviously we want to get this fixed but just wondered if this was a common problem also a rough idea of cost for fixing? Any advice appreciated. Thanks, Sam

Single front windows were once quite common on caravans, but fell from favour, probably because of their weight (when being opened) the strain imposed on their opening stays, and to some extent their hinges. Wind pressure on such a wide piece of plastic when towing causes bowing and potentially leakage too.
My own advice is don’t open it. If you feel that you want to, then you might do well to make up a couple of wooden props to support it, reducing the strain on its frame, as we did 20+ years ago. The best feature of such a large window was, back in those days, the ability to load a canoe inside the van. Our aquatic adventures are limited to paddling these days.
