Front gas locker door broken

Hi, the front gas locker door of my 2012 Elddis Avante has come completely adrift from the top opening hydraulic supported hinges, which look as if they are joined together somehow in the manufacturing process.  Short of having to get a new door and hinges fitted, does anyone have any advice or ideas of how I could refix the door to the hinges safely and securely myself? Thanks.

I am assuming it has broken where the hinge arms were glued to the door which is what happened to our 2009 Avante. It happened to us when we were on-site in York in 2010 and coincided with the dealer who sold it to us, Discover, going bust.

Getting no response from the liquidators a friend suggested using fibre glass to refix it because it was too cold to glue and we needed the door back on. We did this and it was still solidly fixed when we exchanged the caravan in 2014.

We bonded the arms to the door with a fibre glass and resin kit. It did not look very pretty on the inside but it was effective.

ForestRs idea is about right. Fibreglass mat and resin is your best bet. Cut the mat neatly and only use as much as you need. If you are worried about what it looks like you can always sand it when set and then smooth with cellulose putty or plastic padding before sanding again and spraying. A colour near enough should be found at your local Halfords.
