Club Rules
In truth the club should forget rules and let the members do what ever they want as they do anyway. I am I heavy user of sites and find that:-
Members speed around with no consideration to others.
Let their dogs roam without a lead.
If on a lead it is more than the length specified.
Let the dogs foul the site even if there is a dog walk. I see them sneaking around with their dogs waiting them to do their "business" no matter if it is a grass pitch that children will occupy next.
Let their children play ball etc near other members outfits and let them irritate others whilst getting a warm glow with beer and wine.
Children going around site at high speed on their bikes even the wrong way round.
Have raucous gathering late into the late evening/ early morning.
The Club should either suspend members breaking the Club rules or relax the rules
Moderator Comment - Moved as this is a moan rather than a story!

That’s not a story, it’s a complaint.

The only two which I've really never seen is:
Let their children play ball etc near other members outfits and let them irritate others whilst getting a warm glow with beer and wine.
Disgraceful letting children drink beer and wine
but seriously :
Have raucous gathering late into the late evening/ early morning
I have never seen or heard that.
Did you take these to a warden? Also suspend them after how many offences? And how are these offences to be recorded?

Seeing as the subject of rules is being discussed. I was surprised to see for the first time on a club site last week the arrival & departure times being relaxed a little ? Outfits coming on site before 10am and leaving as late as 6pm. Didn't seem to inconvenience anyone

The rules are there for a different reason. The Club more or less turns a blind eye to any infringement as doing something would take up valuable warden time.
The real purpose in them being there is to cover the Club's back should any legal action result from a breach. For example, when one of the wrong-way speed cycling children is injured, the Club can say they had taken action by having a Rule that was then broken, and they are not liable. Same with the dents in the side of you caravan. The Club denies liability.

Agree to an extent Nav but if the complainant used CT as evidence the years of complaint on the lack of action by wardens may well result in something the club could regret. It would really be interesting to see what the 'risk assessments' say.

It’s strange that this thread was started in stories at the same time as two reviews appeared complaining about wardens enforcing rules.
It goes to show that the wardens can’t please everyone.

I've never seen anything on CT that could be thought of as anywhere near proof that action was not taken. The best it ever gets is anecdotal evidence that a particular individual was unaware of any action.
"Case dismissed. Next!"

+1 OP, any provable negligence is good evidence. You see the S/mkts signs-‘vehicles are left at owners risk’ but if you can prove not enough was done to protect owners property then the S/mkts are responsible.

Then there is the wardens take on the "lack of action"as normally it is via the site comments book when said complaint is made (with of course no name given, a negative site reveiw a letter from HO or as a complaint on one of the public forums

I thought I recognised LPC, this is the same poster that raged about inconsiderate dog owners on a Scottish site letting them bark all day. Serial fiction story teller, I think the mods should have left this in stories😛

Well remembered, Phil.
That was 12 months ago.

well done Phil and TW

Mods,
Move this back into the story section as the op does talk a lot of fiction.
If you like reading books we could start at page 272 of the club handbook

Interesting that the OP has not returned to join in the discussion. Unfortunately we get lots of things posted in the Story Section which shouldn't be there so it was a choice of moving it or deleting it. We all make mistakes

Perhaps we should have a new section for tall stories?

As a CMC employee JK, derogatory remarks about a CMC member is not considered good practice.
All the points raised by the OP have all been raised many times on this forum over the years, so there is no fiction involved. As a CMC on- site employee, perhaps you can enlighten us all, why members are still experiencing the examples as described by the op.

It's clear to me, K, that JK runs his site well so none of these events happen.
Derogatory comments? Hardly. Without any fact to back up the moans - not even a site name - I think we can all be forgiven for assuming it’s fiction.
Perhaps when, or if, the club allows you to rejoin, you’ll be able to check out the sites for yourself. You can even visit JK's site.

If and when I decide that I want to be a customer of CMC goods and services again, I might visit JK's site -- Which site is he on by the way ?. It will be good to see a "perfect" (according to you) CMC site. So spill the beans, which site are you talking about ?. You are obviously denying that the points raised by the OP have never been raised on this forum before. That is totally incorrect, all the op's points have been aired many times on here, if you cast your memory back, I'm sure you'll agree.

I’m "obviously denying" nothing in regards to issues being raised on this forum, K, only sharing the doubt concerning the OP with others.
You’ve clearly not picked up the clues regarding JK's site. I’m sure he'll spill the beans if you ask him nicely.

Whilst the "issues" the op has raised have been discussed at length on this forum, they are, in the real world nothing like the picture the op paints. I don't think I've been disrespectful at all, just my opinion as a warden at the sharp end for 36 weeks at a time, every year for the last 8 years.
The site I'm on K doesn't really come into it, it could be anywhere on the network and I'd welcome you as I do everyone, and I'd gladly chat about how life is being a member of the club, you just need to shell out that £51 big ones first

Talking about site rules, we are etting conflicting information about the lenght of dog leads on site in the information published it states that a max of 3mtrs but on the last site we were on the site staff were insisting it is now 2 mtrs and were being quite "insitant "when talking to members with no information as to when it "changed?"
