To speed or not to speed
Staying on a club site, eye opener, children on battery powered scooters and a mini go cart, going faster than the speed limit for cars. Also a segway, albeit mini.

The speed limit applies to all forms of transport.

"The kids are no problem at all!"
folk cycling to the toilet block?.....doesn't anyone ever walk anywhere, these days?
though, I guess some older folk might not make it if they didn't have transport
I know it's the 'UK' section (and apologies for sharing a different take on the OPs issue) but we have a fantastic hardcourt area on site here....football/basketball courts, two table tennis tables, a wonderful 'soft floored' children's play area with slides, roundabout, climbing frame, see-saw etc....
..and for those who need to let off even more steam (even the adults) there's an open, outdoor (but under cover) gymnasium area with about a dozen different pieces of exercise equipment.....
...oh, and a swimming pool.....
obviously, the kids here are no problem at all, either.....
...there's just so much for them to do, and never a soul on the 'racetrack' as the site configuration doesn't lend itself to a GP circuit...
but then we are paying £16, so it's not cheap
BTW, M, we were due at Chatsworth next week so we could have had that beer we missed at Cirencester....
...however, circumstances changed and we went south, perhaps another time?
PS the site speed limit here is 10 kph, so 6mph.

Club Sites during school holidays to be avoided at all times is one of our self applied rules. It has kept us sane for years, after one unfortunate mix up visiting Yellowcraig at a Scottish half term!

I wear my (padded) Lycra underneath my shorts, but is not a 'thong'
...oh, just saw the 'r' there......
i always try to keep my 'r's inside my throng....

Cottage tomorrow for us! All we will be dodging is scampering little lambs, shoving the odd bit of beef out of the way. Swimming facilities at bottom of valley, tad cool but won't be overcrowded! Works out at £33 per night for two of us plus dogs! Yippee!

DD, get them posted on here, we all need to see 'what's to beat'...
a bit like the 'star in a reasonably priced car (ebike)'...
TDA, might be shoving the odd bit of beef out of the way later....to make room for my Dauphinoise
take care, have a great time, all

If it's my site DD I've got a speed gun now so I can record your lap times

Perhaps your children were considered to be at risk as they were near the entrance where there will inevitably be vehicular movement. The warden was probably acting in their interest.
As you will have been supervising your children for their own safety, did you not realise the potential danger?

Ah, we were there a couple of weeks ago. One of my favourites.

It's quiet with regard to kids usually and rarely difficult to get a pitch. There's traffic noise near the gate but quieter further down. All HS now as well👍🏻

'Told off' you mean asked to follow the instructions if displayed or common sense if not? well aren't your children's safety more important to you than someone else's?
and as we used to say in school you can only deal with one naughty child at a time

I think you maybe pulling ours legs again

We were going to give Ross Park a try, M. It would have been especially handy as we were meeting friends at the Two Mile Oak. However, the site was full so we reverted to the tried and tested Stover.

Mmm, how wide are those site roads?
