To speed or not to speed

Staying on a club site, eye opener, children on battery powered scooters and a mini go cart, going faster than the speed limit for cars. Also a segway,  albeit mini.

    The speed limit applies to all forms of transport.

    If parents are permitting their children to break the on-site rules,  it's the antisocial parents who should be taken to task by the on-site staff.  Don't blame the children.

    What site is it as that sort of equipment is normally not permitted?

    Probably about as much as the "responsible adults" here at Chatsworth who keep cycling past our van, against the one way system because it's the shortest route to the toilet block! yell

    The kids are no problem at all!

    Club Sites during school holidays to be avoided at all times is one of our self applied rules. It has kept us sane for years, after one unfortunate mix up visiting Yellowcraig at a Scottish half term! surprisedsmile

    Why does that not surprise me, after all on the public highway one way systems, traffic lights et al mean nothing to the lycra clad throngs.

    Cottage tomorrow for us! All we will be dodging is scampering little lambs, shoving the odd bit of beef out of the way. Swimming facilities at bottom of valley, tad cool but won't be overcrowded! Works out at £33 per night for two of us plus dogs! cool Yippee!laughing

    Our children were told off for riding their skates near entrance yet there was a child on a sit down segway which was going very fast around the site and couldn’t quite easily knock someone down

    Perhaps your children were considered to be at risk as they were near the entrance where there will inevitably be vehicular movement. The warden was probably acting in their interest. 

    As you will have been supervising your children for their own safety, did you not realise the potential danger?

    As on another Thread  did you voice your concerns about the speeding segway to the site staff,were they aware?

    It's quiet with regard to kids usually and rarely difficult to get a pitch. There's traffic noise near the gate but quieter further down. All HS now as well👍🏻

    We had a look at Stover when we visited the country park during our stay at Ross Park last year. Looked a very nice well kept site,  though no good for us except as a stopover because no showers! frown

    'Told off' you mean asked to follow the instructions if displayed or common sense if not? well aren't your children's safety more important to you than someone else's?

    We were going to give Ross Park a try, M. It would have been especially handy as we were meeting friends at the Two Mile Oak. However, the site was full so we reverted to the tried and tested Stover.
