    If as my post any one has been "consulted"by calor??or any other company if it is to be rolled out nationally

    Quick question can you buy the calorlite bottles now as I thought they were stopping them, if so does all the camc stock them.

    I have not come across any guidance on transportation abroad that clarifies this question, but the latest info on the net I could find was from 2009.

    The transportation of cylinders by road (Carriage of Dangerous Goods [ADR] 2009
     
    Everyone carrying gas cylinders in a vehicle during the course of their work must follow basic legal safety regulations. The requirements of ADR do not apply:
    ·      When private individuals carry dangerous goods which are packaged for retail sale and are intended for personal use
    ·      When dangerous goods are carried only incidentally to the enterprise’s main activity (e.g. a plumber carrying propane on his way to a job or an engineer taking refrigerant gas to repair a refrigeration system)

    The later guidance is offered in the following from 2017 guidance, which gives more in depth info for European transportation. The Brexit thing may be an issue, but nothing is clear.

     Update? I have just spoken to the owner/driver of the supplier to this site, and it appears it applys to all companies and all types of portable cylinders (if any one has their contract with calor)he says it is in there?that they are for domestic UK use only, and it is being rolled out as they are being refurbished,so note that as you want

    Ps he also says calor lites are getting like hens teeth

    He just advised it is All companies cylinders,are for use in uk domestic market only, and he did say nothing to do with "Brexit".

    Had to purchase a couple of spares from my nearest caravan dealer, including a new breakaway cable, so I took the opportunity to ask them about two issues raised on this forum recently.

    Firstly the breakaway cable, which the most knowledgeable member of the team advised just to loop around the towball, despite me asking for one suitable for direct attachment.

    My next question was about the calorlight markings discussed in this thread. The response surprised me "nonsense, that is just the Caravan Club stirring things up". Despite several cylinders in their compound being marked GB carriage only.

    I can see why you need to only refill Calor bottles at Calor depots, I had one filled abroad coast £5.5 along with a Campingaz 907 bottle, cost £3. I think a exchange 907 bottle is about £20!!! Haven't changed a calorlite for sum time. Before you all shout, they where filled at a European Regulated LPG Depot, not by me. They operate under the same rules and regulations as the UK (at the moment anyway) so UK markup seems to be the over riding concern, or is it safety!!!

    I think the reason it has come to light is that usual very few people read the small print on any paperwork and it is just calor covering themselves in case of any "problems"arising if taken abroad

    Hi

    I think you are right as stated upthread JV, but I'm waiting a response from our gas supplier and our technical dept. Hey I'm used to not holding breath!! Strangely though we've had a delivery this week and none of the bottles received have the markings mentioned by DSB. Didn't get to talk to the delivery driver as on rest days.undecided

    Perhaps the GB bit just means that they should not be taken to the part of the UK that isn't GB?

    Is "Calor" over there not a different company, who may well not have started the "Lite" packaging anyway.

    Hi everyone.  I've just had a response from Calor and basically, if you get a bottle with this stamped on it, just ignore it!  I have screencapped their response below....  Please zoom in to read it.

    I just wonder what Calor would say if there was a major disaster abroad resulting from a leaking/damaged bottle with this printed on it?
