Calor lite - bottle markings?
I can't recall seeing this on a calorlite bottle before. Has anyone seen it? Does it mean I can't take the bottle abroad on a Continental trip? Any ideas?

Would this regulation cover all gas cylindars?

Freshly painted FloGas standard steel cylinders also have this wording. Older ones do not.

I've sold quite a number of lites this year and have yet to see one thus marked. I've emailed our supplier for information which I'll gladly share but I'm guessing as said above that it's to do with brexit.
Not sure why you'd expect the club to "be all over it" though DD?, it's everyone's choice who supplies their gas as there are other options.

As said before on here the club have a contract with calor bulk to supply the sites ,it is down to the Site wardens who and if they take the decition to have an agreement with their local supplier,to stock bottled gas to sell to site users
So I would expect calor ltd to "advise"their suppliers of anything affecting the use of their portable cylinders

I am sure if anyone is desperate to know a quick e-mail to Calor Customer Services will elicit an explanation. Far quicker and less effort than demanding a response from the Club who don't actually sell the stuff.

As members of this club is it not a benefit of membership to be advised of such safety matters or points of law. Nobody's demanding the club should tell us anything it should be deemed a necessity to be informed if there could be a degree of misunderstanding. Let someone of authority clear the air for ALL. Everyone on here is a member of the CMC and they are our 'leaders' not the other club that's why questions get asked by our members.
If people think the club should not be required to inform and educate then why have they been doing it all these years. The technical pages in the handbook and the advice section at the top of this page are an example.
As an authority they are there to help members and I would welcome that.

The "Club" is here to make money. They get a little discount here and there for the members and they run sterile club sites, with rules and signs ad infinitum. They sell members of a caravan club home insurance, why, because it is tailored to our needs!!!! So if they can do all this for our needs, how about having their finger on pulse in all things caravaning and keep us members informed.

So ask the club then.

The op started this thread on the 4th may and we have already had comments from those at the Sharp end who sell them advising that they had not seen the said cylinder markings ,or had info from their supplier , and there is nothing on the Calor Gas website, so I would imagine that nobody has been advised as it is not considered by calor to be important, and the way calor have desiminated info in the past about anything that does not involve them making money then we cannot expect any thing in the near future

I would have expected the "Club" to have been telling us about this before they started to come out. Not just that, I would have expected the Club to have been discussing it's implications with Calor before a decision was made.
There is a big noise made about the Club being involved in consultations on other matters peripheral to caravanning, but gas supply is central to the activity. As far as I know, the last caravan to be made without gas fittings was in the 1950s, and the number of current users who don't use gas (of any type) is tiny.
