I think the club is winning the day going by the lack of activity lately on here and will eventually just do away with CT. Just been away for 2 weeks due to a family bereavement so had little time for coming on here but when I tried I always gave up after a few minutes of watching paint dry.

    just do away with CT.

Weatherspoons have recently announced a complete withdrawal from social media, it was taking up too much management time.....

An organisation I used to work for wasted goodness knows how much staff time tweeting, twittering, faceing etc...

And the CC has to deploy paid staff to break up the constant bickering on here......

Does any of it sell more site nights or contribute to the bottom line......?

I very very much doubt it. You are probably right Phil, it would make both common sense & good business sense.....

They are strongly promoting their CMC facebook alternative, perhaps they have finally given up on CT and will use that resource to speed up their main site.

Having just spent a couple of days planning and booking sites for a one month trip I can confirm that this is the slowest site I visit. That's a shame as it does discourage using it, especially as there are several alternatives.

I have checked the CMC Facebook site and am not enthralled by what I found.

It is making me question my membership fee again, as apart from Mayday and access to CL sites I'm not getting much return on it.

I don't really have an issue with the speed of the booking part of the site. Just with CT.☹️ Even on mini frenzy day it generally behaved itself. I have just called up a site and progressed to booking and the pages came up within a second or so. However, if I go into discussions and call one up I am currently getting 10 to 15 seconds delay. That lately is good, as often it times out.

I`ve found it very slow at times sometimes unable to continue, come on Caravan Club I can get post on other forums FREE without having to pay a membership fee for the priviledge.

I thought it was free on CT as well. You don't have to be a paid up member.

It’s been absolutely terrible again tonight up to about 10pm.

The constant buffering causes rapid battery draining on my Pad.

it is VERY fast at this time 6:04, but I am not.

Also did a reboot last night and that seemed to speed things up?

Who do you think pays for it Corners? This is is a membership based organisation. The club makes it's money and profits from us and uses the proceeds for enterprises like this, it would be good to know why it is difficult to use CT. smile

We don’t pay an extra fee specifically to use the forum, Brue, unlike some others which was what someone referred to earlier, maybe in another thread.

No that's true we don't pay an "extra fee" but club funds are used to run the website, whether it's the booking system or this part, it would be good if it all ran more consistently.

    Hi all,

There weren't any reported issues yesterday morning when you posted geordie01 but as IanTG states we always recommend opening our website using Google Chrome and clearing cache and browsing history helps to reset any persistent access problems.

Click the 3 vertical dots top right of any Google screen> history> history>clear browsing data> select all time> select options to clear > clear data

    All the best.

    Helen

Helen, it’s day after day. It starts slowing down around 3-4pm and comes back to normal around 10pm, perhaps. It’s usually fine in the mornings as far as I’m concerned.

Clearing my cache, swapping browsers and OS makes no difference at all and this is the only website I have problems with.

Is there any chance of a meaningful response from somebody?

It does seem to be working a bit faster this evening, without me having cleared my cache, thankfully. Wonder what's been done?

The regular users of this forum could be forgiven for thinking that the Club have no interest in the performance of Club Together?
