Back now from our 2 days/nights at Forfar Lochs, we had lovely sunny weather but not warm, although we did manage to sit out at the back of the MH (out of the wind) for a cuppa yesterday afternoon for awhile.
Had a nice cycle ride round the loch and into town, not much to see in town though I'm afraid
Everything working fine on the MH just need to pack it now for France.
Not seen any bluebells out here yet Bakers, by the time they are out we will miss them so nice to see your photos. I've still got daffs that have not yet opened. The flowering cherry has buds but I think I will miss it flowering too. The Pieris didn't get frosted the other night but it did get caught last night while we were away
tonight its a bit drizzly so think it should be fine. Hoping for a chance to get some plants in the garden before we go, otherwise they will have to stay in pots and go to my sisters to be looked after.

Had to wait in for a parcel, so pottered in the garden and also cleaned caravan equipment we took out for the service. Broad beans and dwarf beans planted. If the weather holds I'll get a couple of rows of runner beans in. A lot of the cherry blossom has been battered off the tree so that was short but sweet.
Off to have my stitches taken out this morning.

So glad we went bluebell walking yesterday, grey overcast and spits and spots of rain this morning. Got to walk into town a bit later, need OH to join me so need to get a rocket ready 😉😉.
Feeling rather please and happy 😆 as I have just booked 3 nights away locally 😉 surprised I was able to get in next Monday 😇. First trip since about October 😢, we'll check everything's ok after the winter then family commitments permitting we can arrange a longer trip 😃. Mind you it needs a jolly good wash, can't think why it isn't clean with all the rain we've had 😲. Just got to work out how/where, OH not keen to park outside our house ????? and can' be done on site. I think it'll take all the days between now and Monday to do a decent job.
Good luck with stitch removal Oneputt.
Tammygirl maybe you'll get to see bluebells etc as you travel south.
Enjoy your day folks

Dull, grey and windy today with spits and spots of rain. I do hope the forecasters are right about the sunshine over the weekend. We are waiting in for various phone calls this morning - one from the GP surgery so I am not holding my breath! Then a meeting at the local College this afternoon. It will be nice to meet up with everyone again.
I am glad you have booked a few days away bakers2. We are planning to be away next week but are still waiting for our caravan to be moved. I think we will have to do 'battle' if nothing has been done by tomorrow.
Good luck with the stitches OP.
Enjoy planning for your trip to France Tammygirl.

Have a good trip B2,. If you have any energy left after washing your van ours desperately needs an outside degunge. Thanks in advance
Stitches removed, I was a big boy and didn't make too much noise
The wound is healing really well. Thank you to our brilliant NHS staff for all the care they have taken.
Dull and raining here so plans for the garden are 'knocked on the head'

Did you get a sticker for being a Good Boy OP.

Dull and wet here at the moment so catching up with a bit of admin.
Cut the OH's hair this morning in prep for going away, that should do him until we get back, doesn't grow as fast as it used to.
Will need to put washing machine on at some stage and start getting clothes sorted out to go in the MH.
Off to see Darcey (eldest granddaughter) on Sunday, she has a school parade on in the morning then it will be church afterwards no doubt. After that we will be taking her out for lunch along with her other grand parents. Haven't seen her since the beginning of April so she will talk me to death no doubt
Glad you've got a few days booked Bakers.
Glad you were good for the nurse OP.

Hooray!! Our caravan has been moved to a dry plot in the storage compound and has also been washed
No phone call from the GP surgery though
Have a lovely time with your grand-daughter Tammygirl.
It's stopped raining and the sun is making a tentative appearance

Good news, millie. Any plans for next week? Houghton Mill, perhaps?
The rain arrived with a vengeance this morning but cleared by midday and this afternoon has been sunny but still with a cold wind. We managed to get out for a couple of hours walking the Monsal Trail from Bakewell. Hoping to recoup some of our investment in the Gardeners World 2 for 1 offer tomorrow at Thornbridge Hall and then lunch at The Packhorse in Little Longstone - where else? ( Think I might have mentioned that pub once or twice in the past!

Just got back from our 6 nights at Moreton in Marsh, weather wasn't great but we did see some sunshine, especially yesterday.
Whilst there a nice old couple turned up with this, the picture doesn't do it justice. They have owned it from new, had it 28 years and keep it in a garage. it looked liked it had just left the dealers showroom, it is in absolutely amazing condition.

How did you guess moulesy
. We just need to give them a ring to ask what state their pitches are in.
Can you let us know what the refurbished Gordon Arms is like JVB. I hope you have noticed that I arranged the sun for you.
What a wonderful little caravan Milo. We used to see a couple in France who still had not only their original caravan (about 30 years old) but also their original awning. I can't remember the make unfortunately. It was a wonderful outfit.

What a smashing looking van, I always liked the Wren.
It should have paid for itself by now.

Had a lovely couple of days at a site near the German border but just in the Netherlands.
Incredible thunderstorm Sunday night, most memorable I've ever seen, but good weather since with plenty of sunshine. Looks set to continue for another week when we'll be on a site near the Danube.
Plenty of excellent cycling and walking opportunities here and good nature so we're a pair of happy bunnies.
Hope everyone well and enjoying their hobby.

Sun made an appearance this afternoon so managed a couple of hours in the garden
also sorted out clothes and put them in the MH, food also put away just the fresh stuff to do on day of departure.
Not sure what OH has been up to but he has been in and out of his man cave muttering to himself
Rain shower at teatime now we have blue skies and lovely sunshine again (still cold though)
Hope you get away with the van and have a nice time Millie. Weather not great for the parade on Sunday but I'm sure we will still have a good time.

After very heavy rain for 12hrs through the night we woke to a bright morning. It was breezy, so out came the washing machine & OH took advantage of the weather to get all the clothes out and dried by noon. I popped off and went for a quick walk up and down Conic Hill, back in time for lunch. We then drove back to the visitors centre and walked a short part of the West Highland Way as far as Milarrochy Bay and back along the loch path. Have had an odd short shower this evening but after a dry couple of hours it's raining again. The site has been full since we arrived although no two nights have had the same units on, 2 caravans + 3M/Hs last night, 4 caravans + 1 MH tonight.

Glad to hear that you've had the stitches out and that the wound's healing nicely, OP.
Good to hear that the van's at it's new storage area, Millie. Have a good trip away next week, Houghton Mill is it?
Have an enjoyable trip away B2 and TG too.

Yes nth Houghton Mill as usual
It is a shakedown trip near home to make sure all is in working order. Very late for us but the weather and commitments at home have been against us this year. 2 and a half weeks in Norfolk at 2 different sites next month.
I hope all of you away over the Bank Holiday have successful trips. The weather forecast is looking good (at last).

I’m surprised you admit to this practice Mills, did you make any money on your ‘trip’?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Blue skies and Sun to wake up to, a bit of a chill in the air when out with Rosa
Nice meal at Gordan Arms now an "Eat Inn" not as many "offers" but there are three menus ,the seating has been "upgraded" but is still very much the same place

Thanks for the update JVB, I must give it a try sometime. I must admit we haven't been for a while as I heard some bad reports. Enjoy the sun

Dull and cold today so I'm staying indoors and doing some sewing.
House painter turned up this morning and has made a start on the front of the house, he's halfway along the front but has now gone for lunch (lives in the village)
OH went to his Mens shed this morning, they had a chap visit them to give a talk on Prostrate Cancer. Oh had a check up a while back but some of the men there have not. OH said the chap doing the talk was very good and managed to get across to them how important it is to get checked. Nice to see that the Mens Shed isn't just about what they can make and that they are looking at a wide range of topics.
Right, time for a spot of lunch, its still freezing cold up here, send some of the warm stuff up please.

It seems to be right with Thursday's are the "New Friday" as there is a continuous stream of arrivals here since 1200hrs
It is quite warm now plenty of on site members with their chairs out
Rosa is looking very "posh"as she has had a visit to the groom room at pets at home, (did not advise her we had a 25%off voucher

Well that's the van serviced, £148, not bad, no problems except we ended up paying for the service to our daughter's Mini, £219!! (Hoping to reclaim that back at some point....
) Then a dental repair for OH, more ££££s, plus some work by a friend on our old MG....and now out tonight to our garden club where we have to cough up for some visits out. All in all not a cheap day.

We’re at Engletheaite Hall, and it’s overcast and not quite as warm as promised. We came up yesterday afternoon, and as we know the site well parked up on the first avsilsble pitch. There’s quite a lot of seasonables here and it makes the site rather quiet and lifeless. It’s full over the weekend, so we were advised to pitch according to the “rules”.
The site blurb says WiFi is restricted to a hotspot and slow. But the hotspot is quite a wide circle of pitches (plan in office) and we are in it. It’s not slow at all, so I’ve subscribed for 12 months. Saves eating into our Data.
Apart from sleeping in till a really decadent time we’ve not done much. We went to an M and S Food Hall this morning and I spent too much. Far too much choice!
OH is catching upmon his sleep while I browse on here and read Anthony Horowitz’s “The Word Is Murder” which I’ve been saving for a time such as this. Accompanied by a strong G&T.
