Cathy Chamberlain is one of the world’s first female caravan designers. A solicitor without experience in manufacture or design, she decided to turn her hand to caravans after a rainy camping weekend

Saw it on a TV programme think it cost her around eighty grand, hardly cutting edge design and the inside looks gash, same old same old.

They've been out for a while, I like them, especially the different interior choices.

Aimed at a niche market, not your conventional tin box lover. Personally, I like them, and understand that they can be custom designed. Monocoque as well, so no leaky joints or seams.

without experience in manufacture or design,

Well qualified to join the ranks of caravan designers, then.  They usually also have never lived in a cravan either, so some instant promotion for her there.

the answer to 'A' is probably never unless its her, think she chucked the eighty k at it to be fabricated  and thought I know I'll call myself a caravan designer now.

What a load of cynics! I saw one at Edinburgh last year and it looked excellent. Very retro and stylish. There was also one at the Manchester caravan show this year.

They seem quite cute. Not sure they would attract many existing caravan owners but they might appeal to the Glampers who seem to the the only sort of campers the serious press seem to recognise these dayssmile At a base price of £24000 they are not cheap. We will see.

they remind me a little of the Wingamm monocoque MHs....

is they turn out be as well built (and designed) as these, there will,be a long waiting list....these things take time to put together, unlike the tin boxes mentioned upthread...

They are reported to be very well built which would explain the price. Not a lot new but they are just that bit different.
