Yes 🎉🎉 I've just had a phone call to say the caravan is ready to collect after having some warranty work done. .....only one problem......the tow car has been taken to the garage this afternoon. 😟😟
OH found a piece of coil spring on the drive on Friday. After inspecting both cars, we found it had come from the Kuga front drivers side. So after two weeks without a caravan, we now have a caravan without a tow car! 😮 More wine needed! 🍷

After our caravan tyre blow-out last week, I took the caravan into our servicing department today, who confirmed that the wheel arch needs replacing. They will do it towards the end of May. They did a very good temporary repair this morning and I've ordered a new wheel and tyre which should arrive tomorrow. We'll be able to use the van. 👍👍👍

Lovely day here, again, so I was sent out to do some weeding and clearing in the garden......not my favourite task....while OH went shopping and did some housework.
Due down at DD's tomorrow as she is having an architect out to advise on the possibility of a rear extension. Moving is still an option too, she is having a third viewing of the place she is interested in, taking along her MIL and an uncle in law this time.
It's a big decision.

Good news, David!
Here at Harbury, Madame Kirkwood's threatened deluge failed to materialise. In fact it's been the driest, brightest day since we arrived. So we drove to Charlecote and did a very pleasant walk along the river to Wellesbourne (I thought of diverting to the airfield and asking if anyone knew an aviator from Yorkshire name of Ian, but decided not to risk their wrath!
). Back via the fields where we spotted our first hare of the year.This afternoon we took turns to visit Charlecote House, which is an interesting place but probably needed more time than we had to explore it fully. Here are some pictures of the house and grounds.

Charlecote is a lovely place M, there is a great plant nursery at the car parking section as well! We often stop off on way home from SW for a break, as it's not far from our route home.

Lovely day here at New England Bay. I love the gorse and bird life. Arrived from Dalbeattie at 12.02 lady warden opened up at 12.03 as she had been natterring. WIMMIN!
Had a sandwich and brew in the sun and spent a few hours at Logan Botanic Gardens ending with a nice strawberry sponge cake and a brew. I DO LIKE THIS SITE.

Lovely photos moulesy. Some very good friends of ours (met many years ago on a Campsite in france) live in Wellesbourne which is why we have stayed at Harbury Fields.
Good news that you can still use your caravan David. We are still waiting to hear whether ours can be moved off it's waterlogged pitch in storage in time for us to go away in a week's time

Looks very similar to Blickling Hall.
Had a rather full day. Dropped of MH at "almost" crack of dawn for service & hab check and thence to M&S & PC World to pass a bit go time until visiting with OH's sister. Thence back to collect MH and on to fill up with LPG and fuel. First stop had no LPG, so back on M27 and on to next LPG garage and finally to Sainsbury's for fuel. Pulled up at pump only to find it out of order and had to reverse back to another one. All seems a bit stressful and OH is balking at a prolonged absence in the MH given her sister's condition. The trip is looking doubtful.

Sadly the plant nursery is there no more, either they left or were asked to leave, not sure which. They finished last year, which is a shame as so much selection, worth going there just for their plants. Now just the usual NT plants for sale.

Looks like the NT have taken back the land over the road for their own use, new plant centre and cafe planned or started?. Years ago before the NT took over Charlecote was unspoilt with just a gatehouse in use for access to the grounds and a bit of parking space. We used to go for picnics. How things have changed.

Looks very similar to Blickling Hall.
There are similarities being built in the same era, but you would always recognise Blicking by the yew hedges and the two wings of buildings on the front elevation
Bright start to the day, wind has dropped and completely different to last nights forecast. Have to stay close to the house as am expecting a parcel so will clean some of the gear that we have here before reloading the van.

What a change from yesterday, although we did not get the amount of rain or high winds that were forecast,
Heart monitor fitted but only a one day monitor as there were no batteries available for the 6day monitors
so can take it off at 1000hrs today and return to hospital by 1300 hrsLast bits to do before our month tour starting tomorrow .
A bit of train buff news Tornado suffered a major failure at Biggleswade and is now at Wansford (Nene Valley Railway)until further notice being repaired

Wow awoken to clear blue skies little breeze what a difference from the forecast not to mention yesterday 😲.
In fact even this site seems a thousand times better than yesterday! Managed to read some posts last evening, good to read your news and see photos- thanks 😃 but it took an age and more S L O W was an understatement.
I took mum out to use the building society, something she hasn't done in years! And to buy some sandals 😂😂. I knew her walking was slow but hadn't realised just how slow she is now 😢. OH chauffeured us, dropping us right outside the building society, shoe shop next door luckily, then went off to park up and await the call for collection.certainly couldn't have done it on a day like yesterday without him. Weather was wet and cold but not as bad as forecast for us Shoeburyness took the brunt for wind and no mount of rain thanks 😉. I left her sitting in the building society whilst I went over the road to bank her cheque into her current account £20 charge for building society to do in total, and she banks with TSB 😲. Only bank in town town now I believe, it the was Lloyd's but has been TSB since the merger. Got her bits in the chemist and couldn't pass the proper bakers without an indulgent purchase for us all 😃. She had a good choice of sandals in the self owned, same family, shoe shop we bought our Clarkes/Startrite shoes as children. I swear the small wooden chairs are those I seat on 60 years ago 😂😂. Chauffeur arrived outside to collect, final stop the butchers for ourselves so very successful use of a rotten weather morning.
Aiming to shift myself and do routine bits before heading out for a bluebell walk.

Had to visit the local sorting office to collect a parcel that was undelivered yesterday. Nipped off early to miss the worst of the traffic. Temperature according to the car dash was decidedly Tamla Motown - Three Degrees. Nice to get a bit of blue sky for once though.

Was on the other coast from New England Bay last year, driving passed the site a couple of times it looked really nice and and not too regimented. It was late July when we were in the area and there looked to be plenty of spare pitches. If up that way again I would certainly give it a try.

Nice picture, brue. We had plenty of those little blighters in the field behind us at Harbury Fields, what a noise!
We arrived at Chatsworth today at 1:15 - no queues, no hold up, check in and straight onto a lovely big south facing pitch. Quite a few pitches free at the moment - there's going to be a stampede on Friday, I'm guessing.

Beautiful day here but cool. Managed a walk among the bluebells, not quite in their full glory but beautiful, bees really enjoying them. Lovely birdsong, insects and a single squirrel, not as mucky underfoot as I expected after yesterday's heavy rain but the brook/stream running very well with a little waterfall 😉 well the levels changed by a couple of feet 😃. Didn't really need our body warmers on! So different from yesterday. Could hear sheep somewhere fairly local but didn't see them. Discovered new tearooms delious 😲😇.
This site is soooo slow I'm getting very frustrated 😤.

The fields are BRIGHT with the rapeseed flowers. So many shades of green too. Marvellous time of the year.

Lovely photos bakers2. Spring is so lovely when the sun shines. I was on Cathedral Welcoming duty this morning. It was a lovely bright sunny day but as they have now switched the heating off it was a tad chilly. We had some really lovely appreciative visitors though. Eldest grand-daughter popped round for a chat this evening which was a lovely bonus.

That's the one, although it wasn't as far in leaf as that yesterday. How did you like the site? We've used it 3 times now and will certainly use it again. Had a grand chat with Frances about sheep, and learnt a lot!!
Dull cold day up at Balmaha, and rain from mid-afternoon. It'll be a damp walk out now.
