What hard luck David. It's something I always dread happening, so far we've been lucky. Hope you get it sorted soon. We'll be in your neck of the woods after our visit to Chatsworth. Staying at Kingsbury Water Park C&CC site and I've got a walk at Polesworth! So I'll get in touch to see if you're around. Would be good to meet up again.

Helen - thanks for the heads up about Charlcote. May change plans then. I've got walk from Warwick and Leamington along the canal. Might do that instead! ☺

Moulesy,  I can also recommend the Stratford Greenway for a nice walk, it runs from Stratford to Long Marsden along a disused railway.

Hope you have a nice day, whichever walk you choose.smile

Just where are you? We've had heavy showers, showers, heavy continous rain and lots of lying water. Is there enough on the Capacity for guests?

Sunshine, that would be good, it has rained all day here, have stayed in anyway hoping this wretched cold won't take more of a grip. Catching up on your news.

Hope you get to Charlecote Moulesy, it's nice to see the deer herd, I've got a pair of antlers that from the park, they've travelled round with me for years. I can remember the park before the NT took over. smile

Hope those travelling round get some good weather. Sorry to hear about DSB's mishap, lucky that you finally realised something was wrong. DK, better news fro Margaret.

Enjoy your break TG and your plans for France.

Hope the photo session went well for Millie and spouse.

Apologies if I've missed anyone out. We're at home till the end of May but we've got jobs to do and OH is looking forward to a couple of fishing matches.

We had a lovely morning having our photos taken. Quite a novelty for us.  We were acting as his guinea pigs as he has just set up in business.  He is a young man in his 40s who has had MS for years and coped very well with it but had a bad relapse last year and has now been retired on health grounds so we really hope he makes a success of it all.  He certainly deserves to as he took some great photos of us and the whole experience was very relaxing.  I tried to change my profile photo with one that he took but the resolution is to high so no luck.  I will try again here. Hooray Success!!

That's lovely Millie, you must be pleased with the results and you are a good advert for his skills, hope he does well, not an easy illness to have, so a less stressful type of work for him.

    Great photo Millie!

Today we had a visit from DD and Grandson, first time she has brought him up here, he is only 6 weeks old.  She came for lunch.

We had a lovely time, she fed him then I topped him up with a bottle of expressed milk, but mainly he was either asleep or happy to be walked around by me.

On Sunday we are off to see the other grandchildren, their Dad has been over in Sweden this week.

That is bad, can I suggest you fit some Tyrepal monitors?  They are very good.

We have Twin axle so a blown tyre is not so bad, but on a single axle I would be fitting a monitoring system.

Sounds like you had a lovely day Kj. Have a great time with your other grandchildren on Sunday.  We have 2 of ours overnight tomorrow and Sunday as SIL is taking our daughter to The Hoste Arms at Burnham Market for a birthday treat.  We have booked to take them to see the Peter Rabbit film tomorrow afternoon as the weather forecast doesn't look good enough to get them out and about.

I hope you are beginning to feel a bit better brue and hope you are more pleased with your hair now that you have washed it bakers2.  It is not good when you are not happy with your hair.

I am so envious of those of you with sun.  It is wet, wet, wet here.frown

moulesy we went to the NT property Baddesley Clinton when we stayed at Harbury Fields and loved it.

Seems like folks have a decent day despite the weather, Francis is the exception!

Tammygirl great news for your trip, shows that recovery is dependent on exercise 😉.

BolerBoy glad to hear you'r'e back driving and thus able to plan trips 😃.

David Klyne's you definitely need squirrel proof feeders 😲. Our resident squirrels haven't cracked the RSPB ones - they are not cheap 😲😲.

DSB sorry about your incident hope the damage isn't too great or costly. Thankfully no injuries.

Tricky pleased you've had a good break and that you're preparing for your over there trip.

KjellNN I can't believe your grandson is now 6 weeks old, time flies! I hope your daughter is enjoying motherhood and there ain' too many sleepless nights 😉. It must be so lovely that your offspring are fairly local allowing frequent visits.

I hope I haven't missed anyone- apologises if I have.

Try to stay dry folks, it seems the whole country is getting rain for the next few days and the temperatures ar dropping  😲

Edit forgot to add I had a return visit to the hairdressers this afternoon, more highlights added. Much happier with it now, more importantly so is OH 😉.

Most of the day fairly decent with some sunshine but in the last hour we have had the most horrendous downpour and then we got another one with hailstones. Seems to have passed now, hope we don't get the frost tonight that some of the glens/hills are getting. I've got the fleece ready to go on the pieris just in case, its just a mass of red at the mo so don't want it frosted.

    MilliH, the photos are lovely.

DSB, hope you get the van sorted soonest and you don't miss your May holiday.

Brue, hope you feel better soon

KJ, glad you had a nice day with the new baby.

Moulsey, hope tomorrow is better weather for you.

DK, glad to hear Margaret is doing well.

Tammygirl I'd put that fleece on now. Our family folklore says frost after hail 😉. I never take a chance if it hails when the temperatures are low.

I put our heating back on today. It is more like November than April. surprised.

DSB so sorry to hear about your accident. We had something similar happen on a motorway in France a few years ago. It was very frightening. I hope the repair isnt to costly and doesn't upset your future travel plans.

Glad you are happier with your hair now bakers2.

Good news about your OH tammygirl. All systems go for your next trip laughing

Been really warm here today, we had 29 degrees out in our south facing sun room this afternoon.

We use a fan, on solar power, to circulate the heat to the north facing side of the house, and another fan to send the heat downstairs, our living rooms are upstairs.

So we are sitting here at 21.30 with no heating required, and we have had a good day for the solar power, at least £10 FIT earned.

We need more days like this!

Thanks for the comments folks.  It's great to read what you've all been up to after a difficult week...... and to see the lovely photos (Millie).

Let me know if you are up our way Moulsey and if I'm about we'll  see if we can find a local pub close to Kingsbury.

I'll let you know how I get on with the caravan.... but for now, it's time for my Friday night Indian takeaway and a glass of red!  😀😀

Thanks for the kind comments about Margaret's condition, what a difference a year makes. Beginning to wonder if we might actually get abroad this year.

RE the bird feeder and the squirrel. The little chap didn't get into it but like the birds was able to get the sunflower hearts through the mesh. I have moved the feeder now to possibly a more difficult place for him to get at it. We shall see. You have to give him 10 out of 10 for ingenuity.

We get the occasional squirrel, dangling in the apple tree trying to get at the peanut feeder, as it has to negotiate a sharp eyed terrier the visits aren't often enough to require moving the feeder.

Another damp day here, still battling with a cold etc but will have to visit my Mum as my sister has been away and the weekends can seem longer if there are no visitors. The family are good taking at making visits in turns but sometimes everyone is busy elsewhere.

Hope you all have a good weekend. smile
