Lunar Delta RI Problems
Just asking for a bit of feedback.
We bought a new Lunar Delta RI from Swindon Caravans in July 2016 to replace a 2013 Swift Conqueror, that had to go back for major damp in the front windows.
We thought buy new should reduce any major problems. Few niggles when bought that dealer sorted at first service.
At easter in the lovely british weather we had in one rain storm we had water running down the inside of the windows.
Anyway leaking both sides at the roof. Took back to dealer who did a temp repair.
On collecting had a report 90% damp along the top both sides, 50% damp in the sides down to 25% at the floor, Wallboards are stained & the reason is the roof is dipping by 20mm.
Now I think this is because it was not built correctly, as such it is a latent defect and the caravan is not fit for purpose.
I think it should be replaced its a major repair that I do not see why I should accept as it will be taking my van completely apart, which I have had with our previous van.
The van is 18 months old I do not think it is acceptable.
I can only take action against the dealer as that is who my contract is with.
They have had an opportunity to repair but cannot do it.
Its our 5th van from the dealer.
Anyone been in a similar position & how resolved

Reject it, Paul.
I seem to keep on posting this link which is a poor reflection on the quality of new caravans.
The club's legal team should be able to help as well.

Like yours mine as suffered from damp from new and countless other faults It is shocking that the get out is we will repair it when we as customers we have the distress inconvenience and loss of enjoyment..the caravan clubs legal department as told me l have not got a case as they have offered to repair it. It is a scandal

I also have a delta RI 2016 and it's finally going in for a new floor along the nearside under bathroom cupboard/toilet and bed because of damp. the annoying part is that Lunar are so slow at supplying spares it will be a total of 5 months since being first spotted. so only getting 7 months use of van. next service will probably see more damp elsewhere and waiting again for this so called caravan builder to supply parts.

I have written to the chief executive of lunar I suggest you both do the same and to think the delta model is top of the range

The trouble is as I have found is that all the caravan repairers are fully booked up for months doing the same damp repairs on all sorts/make of caravan so when they receive the parts you have to wait for a slot to become free and see this will get worse as more people buy caravans old and new.
